One thing I think that could be helpful is to watch Spanish movie with and without Spanish and English subtitles. That way you learn a lot of things… not just the language… the expressions… the most common words used… etc.

These are all really great ideas. I am doing many of the same things to try and learn more Spanish. Surprisingly, I really learn a lot when I read the lyrics to a song in Spanish and listen to the music at the same time. The lyrics stick in my head and I have to find out what they mean.

Also, babylon dictionary online is very helpful, my boyfriend set it up and I just right click on anything and it will translate it into English for me or into Spanish from English.
