learn how to use 43 Things
A question about this goal: how do you cheer other peoples' already achieved goals if they don't have entries? Am I missing something? cough cough Des... 1 year ago

Sometimes when I am looking at the goal and I click to “see people who’ve completed this goal,” then next to each person it says worth doing or not, and the number of entries they made on that subject. If they didn’t make any entries it should say “0 entries” and when you click on that you have the option to cheer the completed goal.

At least that’s my recollection of how it worked. Let me know if you try it!

thanks flash! that works great if there aren’t too many people who have checked it off. Opens a few more cheering avenues for people like Des & Todd.

Yep, that’s how it works, plus the team thing that Todd mentioned below. But no one has ever run out of comments of mine to cheer – not even Dwlt. It just takes some hunting, which I know is a pain, because I hunted everywhere for new things of Dwlt’s to cheer – I went through all the entries of other users I knew he interacted with, I googled his username, everything. Very time consuming, but fun to see the really old stuff.

The reason I asked is that I was trolling through your completed things list for comments to cheer. I noticed a bunch of goals with no entries so I just skipped them – then you cheered one of my completed things without a comment. I was briefly stumped until Flash & Todd explained.

I know there is no way I’ll ever run out of things to cheer for you.

I was just curious about that little 43 things loophole.

I didn’t mean anything by it. I hope I didn’t say something annoying.

Flash is right, but that only works if the person shows up as one of the first three who have completed it. If they are on a team, you can go to the team and find someone on the team who made an entry. Bringing that person up will give you a list of everyone on the team on the side and should show the link for 0 entries under the person you want to cheer.

good point. I wish the cheers would follow with your goal once completed.

The other thing is, if you’re subscribed to the person, the completed goal will show up in your subscription pages for him or her.

true – I was looking for those long ago completed goals. Specifically – I was cheer bombing Des & looking for a shortcut so I could cut down on scrolling ;)
