that i’m better with my money when i’m broke…wierd right? haha well i decided that i would try something new…
start spending money like i’m broke…well, because otherwise i will keep spending until i’m way beyond broke so here’s my plan:
1. figure out how much spending money i have left each paycheck after taking into account bills and savings
2. take either 1/2 or 3/4 of my spending money amount out from the bank and carry it with me in cash
3. leave all the cards (debit/credit) at home
When I shop with my cards I never hesitate to think about whether or not I can live without that something nor do I realize that it’s waaay beyond my budget and that I really can’t afford it…but with cash…I will have to think about how much I have and take into consideration if there is anything else I am planning to buy, if I can look elsewhere for a better deal, if I can live without it, if i’m getting my money’s worth, etc…that’s when all the questions seem to come flooding in…
Hope this gives me a different mindset when shopping sooo…
I’ll keep my fingers crossed!!!
I enjoyed reading Khaled Hosseini’s, The Kite Runner, so much that I HAD to read his second novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and unsurprisingly, it’s just as beautifully written…so yes, I recommend both…
