I am failing miserably at this goal.
I am failing miserably at this goal.
I have been running a couplea times a week lately. It’s not a lot, just a mile or two here and there. And I did do a 5 K on March 15. I want to run more but it HURTS me. I think there’s something wrong with my knees. I bought some new running shoes tonight and I hope they solve the problem so I can keep my little now-and-again thing going.
Today I worked out for 40 minutes on the treadmill. I only ran a mile, and walked the rest, but at least I got moving. I need to stay motivated!
I finally got off my arse and went running tonight. Didn’t go far, only about 1/2 mile, but at least I was moving.
So I have done the elliptical trainer a couple of times in the last few weeks. It’s easier than running and I get a good workout. It’s better if I put some kickin music on. I want to keep running but that will be easier when it’s not so hot out.
Finally got to the gym again and ran on the treadmill for 20 minutes. I need to get into the habit of doing this. Starting over all the time is a big drag.
Last night I went to the gym. Got there too late for yoga so I did treadmill instead. I walked and ran, and ran another 1 mile (in addition to what I ran yesterday morning). I woke up a little bit ago and tried to go downstairs. BOO HOO!! I am sore. It is so hard to get back into this after being so lazy. I am hoping I can get in shape and the results will pay off.
Ok I have been such a lazy arse since I moved. I did join a gym but now I am getting more creative about finding excuses not to go. When I do go, I do not want to do the treadmill. In order to prevent any further damage, I MUST start running. I was doing so great last summer, I know I can do it and I just have to get past the lazy arse.
Yesterday I found a link to a website. www.goruneasy.com Thank god. It lets you plot different routes and see exactly what the distance is. I thought it was way cool. So, out of curiosity I plotted a few routes close to my house. Then this morning I forced myself to go RUN. I ran 1.1 miles. Minor technical difficulties – my iPod battery died right at the beginning of Sexy Back- depressing! But I kept plugging along even though the dry desert air sucks all the moisture out of my throat and I just want to STOP!!!
Now that I’m back I feel like I will hack up a lung, but I feel good (ok, sort of) and I am happy that I actually ran a whole mile without stopping.
Tonight I’ll do yoga at the gym and then run again tomorrow. Little bit at a time.
