I love my three kids to stinkin’ death but will readily admit that sometimes it is overwhelming to be a mom! I am tired a lot and it can be draining always having to be emotionally, physically, financially, etc. supporting someone at any given time 24/7. That being said, sometimes when my kids ask me to play or if I am particularly tired (which is often, I hate to say) it is so easy to brush them off or tell them to go play, watch a movie, read, or anything else, so that I can have a little peace and quiet. I’ve decided to be more conscious of how often I say that and I’ve also decided that I am not going to take the easy way out and do that so much. They are growing fast and soon they won’t want to talk to me or play with me and I know that will suck, to put it bluntly! So I am going to try my best to play with them most every time they ask and listen to them when they have something to say. They are little grown-ups in training and I want to be the best darn teacher I can be and have lots of memories of being there for them when they needed it. I can sleep, read, be artistic, get exercise, and go to the bathroom without being barged in on in about 20 years, give or take. It’ll be here before I know it, right? It will, right? Someone please tell me it will! :)
