I have bedside table/shelves now. I’ve been looking everywhere trying to find some kind of table or shelf to use beside the bed. Everything was always too short, and it’s been REALLY annoying to have to hang halfway off the bed in the morning every time I want to hit the snooze button!!
They aren’t actually bedside tables, but that’s what I’m using them for anyway. We found some things at Target called cubicals, and they have lots of different ones you can put together in lots of different configurations. We’re going to hang them on the wall, and we bought dark and bright blue fabric boxes that fit in the cubes and act as drawers. I’m pretty happy with them, and they were a lot cheaper than normal tables would have been too!

I was at Target and found some curtains I really liked. I’ve actually seen them there many, many times before, and I always liked them but never had any place in my house that needed them. Now that I repainted the bedroom, I decided they would be perfect. The only problem was they only had one panel left, but I went ahead and bought it, and I’ll just keep looking until they get more in stock. I really need to find some bedside tables, but I have no idea where to look. I hope I can get this finished soon.

The walls are painted (still need a couple touch up, but other than that, all done) and everything is back in the room. Still need to hang a couple shelves, find some new bedside tables, get new curtains, and organize some things, but it’s pretty much done except for little finishing details. It looks so much better now, and I’m really happy with it!

Just need one more coat on one wall, and some cutting in and trim work, and all the painting will be done. I’ll be glad to be able to put the room back together.
Right now, we’re staying in our guest bedroom and half of the stuff that belongs in our room is sitting in the middle of the living room. It’s chaos!!

Two walls previously had shelves mounted on them, which meant anchors were used, which meant there were holes in the wall when they were taken down. The shelves will be moved to other areas, so the holes had to be patched before I could paint them. The holes have been patched, need some sanding and more spackle, and I’ll be able to paint them. I did put the first coat of paint on the other two walls, and the room looks better already! It’s SO bright! Yes!!

And I was planning on borrowing my dad’s roller instead of buying one, but he doesn’t know where his went. One of them is covered in oil, so that one is out. I’ll have to go back to the store and get one myself before I can get started.
And I like the colors even more now. When I saw that container full of bright blue…ahhh, it was SO pretty! I hope I feel the same when it’s on the wall!

Yesterday I was having a problem choosing colors. I had two shades picked out, but then I couldn’t decided if I really wanted those colors or not. Then I was thoroughly irritated and annoyed by some “friends,” which put me in a bad mood, so I decided to go home and not bother with the colors.
Later last night, I decided that I’m just going to to stick with my first idea. I’ve always liked the colors and combos I have picked out, and if it’s really that horrible, I can always paint over it!
So, I think I’ll go buy me some paint today!

Yeah, wouldn’t that be nice. I’m very excited, because my new alarm clock I ordered will be here today. It’s really awesome, because it has 7 different alarms (one for each day), that way I don’t have to change it every day!
I’m thinking about getting started with the painting this weekend, but I don’t know if I should just wait until we get back from vacation instead. At the same time, I’m thinking if I sit around waiting for a “good time” I’ll never get started, so I think perhaps today should be the day to go buy some paint!!

I finally made some decisions on what to do, which means I can actually get started now. We moved the old dresser out, and that has given us more room too, which is nice. I’ve decided to paint the walls a bright, cheery blue, except for the headboard wall, which will be a darker blue. I also found a white sheet for 10 bucks to cover the boxsprings, so I can get rid of the bedskirt…yuck!
I’m not a huge, huge fan of painting, but I know it’ll be awesome when I’m finished, so I’m still looking forward to doing it. The only bad thing is I’m pretty sure I’ll have to paint the walls with primer first, because they are red, and I’m not confident that the blue will cover it, without about 10 coats anyway!

We bought a new king size matress to upgrade from our full, but didn’t have a frame for a long time. We finally bought a new frame, which is so awesome, because it’s a bed and dresser all in one! There are drawers under the bed to store clothes, shoes, or anything else. I love it!
I have a few different pictures on the wall of trees and flowers. They are all black and white, and I really like them. The walls are red, but I’m really tired of it. It’s so dark, and my kitchen in red too. I want something bright and cheery instead. I don’t know what color I want to paint the walls yet though. Right now I have black and red bedding, but I think I’ve decided to get a down comforter with a white duvet cover. Then I can add different colors whenever I want by changing the sheets.
This is my list of things to accomplish to mark this goal as finished:
Down comforterDuvet cover- Move old dresser out
- Find a way to hide the box springs
- Matching bedside tables or shelves
- Fix light cords
- Paint room
- Organize closet
- New hamper system
I’ll probably add more later. I can’t wait to have this done, so I don’t hate going in my room anymore!
