R. is going to help.  — 1 week ago

He offered to cover my deductible on my home owners $2500, and help me out with the balance on one of my credit cards, that’s about $3500 and one other thing I owe. That will leave the bulk of my debt in student loans, one personal loan that I used to consolidate credit card debt, my car and my mothers car. That should leave me with about $800 more a month I can put towards the rest of my outstanding debt. Both our cars should be paid off pretty quickly at that rate and then I’ll just be left with the loans. Getting there. Slowly getting there. I can’t say enough about the Dave Ramsey site and its budgeting program. It has made the biggest difference for me. By budgeting and telling my money where to go I’ve really made some changes in my habits and my debt.

really have redirected my energies to this. i keep looking for areas where i can cut back on expenses and put more towards my debt.

i really wanted to take a trip in Sept, that i have now decided just can’t do. i simply cannot spend the money right now. i’ll just enjoy the time off at home.

2 more credit cards, what a good feeling. this goal is tied in with simplifying my life. 2 less things to keep track of.

looks like i’ll have my mothers car paid off in Dec at this rate. if i can keep it up….at my current rate of payment i’ll have my student loans paid off 22 years early. that’s huge.

i’ll be able to submit my expenses from the conferences that weren’t covered by this years educational funds to next years funds. so pretty much all the housing and travel for the 2 conferences will be covered. that’s a big relief, i thought i was going to have to make up the difference and was already feeling sick about having to put the stuff on my credit card.

paid off  — 3 months ago

a $10,000 conusmer loan. finally. i’ll be applying tthe money that was going to that payment to my mother’s car loan, so I should have that paid off in about 6-7 months if all goes well.

buying anything when I was in DC this weekend. Can’t believe it. I am getting better at not spending. I put the registration for the conference and the hotel on my credit card, but I should get reimbursed from my employer for part of it. I’ll have to make up the difference, but it was so worth it.

an extra $1000 toward my mother’s car and increased the monthly payment I am making by $100, if I can get hers paid off then I can start working on getting mine paid off early. felt good to mail that extra check.
