... widely-encompassing “social” changing tool, but . . .
43Things has an impact – as is evidenced by the activity on the site, as well as the comments that are made, the goals that are chosen, etc.
Personally, I have found myself thinking about goals more differently when utilizing the site. The site does offer opportunity for exploration—both inwardly, and outwardly.

Unless we are working as a TEAM and combining these 43Thing-related goals into NETWORKING-type TEAM-related goals, they are all “floating” out there unrelated, instead of inter-related.
I’m all for getting these similiar goals CONNECTED, and then forming TEAMS around the connected goals . . .
Or, am I just:
- up the creek without a paddle;
- swimming against the current;
- out in left field; or
- all of the above?

Today was the day I was going to post a similar comment regarding this very thing. I found three people had already touched on the connectivity issue.
Although 43 Things allows us to discuss our goals here on the site, we have no way of contacting one another to take the discussions a step further - well, we do - but that would mean posting our contact info (e-mail, etc.) on the site for the entire world to see (not a very safe choice).
43 Things should give us a way to connect “off-site” with like-minded individuals to further our steps toward our goals, imo.
See Alyssa, jeffpmills, and misslisette for more on this.

. . . band together to effect social change?
We currently have 76 people who have chosen this as a goal—how do we connect, and inter-connect, to effect some types of change, and to discuss, among ourselves, the steps to achieve this goal?
I would like to be part of a group that uses 43 Things as an effective POSITIVE force to see social change, no matter how great or small. It is the banding together to effect the changes that will make it happen.

Even small changes have a “ripple” effect . . . and, if enough of us begin to effect those small changes, the ripples will widen substantially.
