Loadshedding, the excuse for getting a notebook  — 7 months ago

South Africa is experiencing major power shortages, such that I’ve been without power at least 2 hours a day for the past week.

This will go on until 2010, apparently. Its quite annoying.

The only good thing, I can finally justify getting a notebook. Then, why not a Mac :-)

So my one friend decided to buy a Macbook. Black one.

He liked it, but then he promptly decided to swap it out for a Macbook Pro. He’s fetching it as we speak.

Temptation abound  — 1 year ago

The one guy in the office got himself a Macbook. A black one to boot.

I walk past it every day, many times a day. He is aware of the temptations I’m trying to fight, so he makes me touch it every now and again.

sigh

I can’t afford it right now, and I don’t really need a notebook anyway. But still, its so shiny!

I need to finish the “Save up six months worth of living expenses” goal first.

Plus, the Powermac I’m interested in is 6 times more expensive than a decent AMD 64bit.

Still, maybe I’ll indulge in getting it anyway.
