I just transferred another $500 to my savings account, so there’s $1500 in there now (plus interest, which is like $11 so far, but I don’t tend to count that). There is $279 and change in my checking account now, but I have a paycheck and one more that I’ll get this week that I’m going to deposit, totaling in the $160s, so at the end of the month I’ll have around $440 in my checking. I’m expecting about $200 more from my job at school before the end of the semester… they offered a while ago for extra hours, I might take them up on that if they still need more work done, since I only work 6 hours a week currently. I’m not sure if they’re going to have us working the week of finals (I don’t have a problem with working on the days when I don’t have tests). My birthday is next month and there’s nothing I really want, so I’m hoping to just get money; same with Christmas.
There are of course the usual expenses of groceries, the occasional movie or whatever out, craft supplies… but it’s looking pretty good overall.
I have a video camera at home that I got as a gift several years ago and have pretty much never used (and probably will never use) that I’ve been meaning to sell for a while. I wanted to check it out and make sure it still works okay before I list it, but I think the battery’s dead. I’ll have to work that out when I’m at home over winter break. So hopefully that’ll go well and bring in a bit of extra money.

Once I deposit these paychecks I’ll have $1,917 (had to pay for stuff for rugby, school, etc., as usual). I figure I’ll get close to $400 more from my job this semester, although I imagine I’ll still be spending some of that on things at school and supplies for Christmas presents.
I was kind of set back in this because I would have had a job over the summer to make up for what I spent in Greece, but I couldn’t drive and didn’t end up getting a job. Hopefully I will be able to drive again by this summer (although, I want to do research, so it’s more like hopefully I can find something I want to that has a decent stipend) so that won’t be a problem. I hope I can keep my same job on campus next semester, because I like it better than most of the alternatives.

Alright, so the aftermath of my trip to Greece: I have $1,989 left. $1,000 of it is now in a high-interest savings account and the rest is in my checking account (although I’ll probably move more of it over soon).

So my ING account was not straightened out afer all. Ugh, I am so sick of them, I’m just going to open an account somewhere else. Stupid ING.
Well anyway, I emailed the people today where I want to work at school when I get back, so hopefully that’ll pan out.
Still have yet to deposit that birthday/Christmas money, because there are no branches of my bank around here, and I keep forgetting to give it to Mum to drop off on her way home from work. Perhaps I should go do that now.
I’m not doing guard after all, which is sad, but that will be $600 that I won’t be spending.
However a shirt I want from Threadless has been reprinted, so I just might buy that. Maybe not though. I probably have enough shirts.

I just spent a little over $70 on some books for school. Ugh. I have about $50 worth more to get for my last class, though.
I’m planning on going to the bank tomorrow and I’m going to deposit $150 of my birthday/Christmas money. Mum still owes me money, but I don’t know when I’ll be getting that. I finally called ING today and got my account straightened out, so I should be able to transfer money there and start earning interest soon. I’m down to $2,732.35 but that’ll be $2,882.35 after I go to the bank tomorrow. And back up to almost $3,000 after mom pays me back and I buy the rest of my books.
And then I am going to get a job at school. Seriously. I’m down about $1400 from my highest point =( $900 of that was for plane tickets and then textbooks and the money I lent to mom, but there’s still like $200 I spent on food and clothes, mostly. I can’t be buying a bunch of groceries all the time on no income.

Well, I bought my plane tickets for Greece, so that’s minus a little over $900. But I do have some birthday & Christmas money to deposit to the tune of $170, plus the $160 that my mom borrowed from me. I have colorguard dues to pay ($600) and I still have to buy half of my books for next semester, but I’m also hoping to get a job at school, which over the course of the semester should get me at least $500-$700 hopefully (which will basically pay for guard). And then I’ll go to Greece and spend a lot of money and then get a job for the summer and hopefully not be too far behind where I was at the end of this past summer.

I’m kind of doing the opposite of this. Not a lot, but like… Christmas, etc. My mom asked me to pay for something because she was waiting for a check to clear, so she owes me some money from that. I didn’t really get a lot of money (or… anything, really) for my birthday, so that was a bust. And I’m thinking of doing colorguard again, so I have to pay dues for that and probably spend some money on transportation. Argh. It’s just annoying because I don’t have a job. I’m definitely just going to suck it up and work at the Phonathon next semester. It’ll actually work out well if I do guard then, because they don’t operate on Friday & Saturdays and that’s when I have practice.
Oh, and of course, I’m buying my plane tickets imminently, so that’s another hit to the balance. But it’s worth it.

$4,093.43 ($3,727.43 not counting the scholarship money). I made a donation and bought another t-shirt.
I still don’t have a job. I have somewhere I’m going to apply this week, I think. I’m buying my plane ticket next month, which will set me back about $860. Also, at the end of next month after my birthday, I can finally open an ING account and start earning some interest!
Ooh, my birthday. Hopefully I’ll get some money there. There’s not really much else that I want.
And then there’s Christmas. I have most of what I need for everyone’s presents, although there’s still other stuff to buy. Don’t ever think that someone’s cheap because they gave you a handmade gift. They’re not cheap. But thankfully Christmas is another occassion to receive money.

So my dad finally deposited the scholarship check. I have $4,123.58 now :) I went to the grocery store yesterday and also got out $20 because I had no cash… but I do (tentatively) have a baby-sitting job that should be bringing in a little money, which is pretty much to cover my little food habit.
Technically $366 of the scholarship money is to pay for books for next semester (what’s left after the $434 I spent this semester) so only $3,757.58 is really mine… but, eh. We’ll deal with that when we get there.
I have spent like $150 ($157.90, to be exact) on stuff in the past month or so – mostly on groceries and such, and a pair of jeans (to replace the ones that I got paint all over) and a shirt that I’ve wanted for like a year that went on sale. So… kind of need to curb that, I really don’t need to be spending $20-25 a week on food. It won’t be so bad though once I start having an income to cover it.

I talked to my dad today, and they finally got that scholarship check. He’s going to deposit for me (rather than mailing it to me and making me walk to the bank here, which is a bit of a hike). So there’s $800 right there!
Also, I spoke to a lady about baby-sitting her daughter. We’re going to meet on Tuesday and see how that goes, hopefully it’ll go well. I still want a regular on-campus job, but a little extra cash from baby-sitting is always good.
I do need some groceries though, so that will be a small expenditure… However, my dad bought me a PUR water pitcher so I won’t be buying water anymore, and fruit is cheap, and otherwise I just need stuff for breakfast on the weekends (since they don’t serve breakfast on Saturday and Sunday here).
