More is less

I’ve been having difficulty keeping my journal daily, so I’ve decided to keep two! Er…
I realised that I was struggling to write about professional matters in confidence, so ending up not writing anything. Now I have a reflective diary which gets written up at the end of every work day and a personal log (!) which gets an entry every night.
More writing, but less work!

The end of my first week journalling daily (and my first week on 43things). Every night I’ve opened up Mémoires at 10pm (or asap thereafter) and reviewed the day.
10pm is my cut-off point for any serious activity: I may then read fiction, watch a movie or have a chat, but I won’t be working or planning; the work day is over.
Looking back over the week, I can see a progression of energy & optimism which I hope will continue. I’ve also been reminded of a couple of pleasant events which would otherwise have skipped my mind.
Cheers to all who’ve cheered my goals: here’s to the coming week!

While this site is in some senses a journal, there are things I want to mull over & look back upon which are maybe too intimate for the internet.
In the past I’ve used journalling to negotiate troubled times, to clear my head and clarify my thoughts, but I’ve never before attempted a daily record.
A handwritten journal is appealing, but for this month I’ll be using Mémoires (http://www.codingrobots.com/memoires/): simple & elegant.
