Tae Bo and Eating 1 year ago

Yeah I know- Tae Bo was that cheesy 90’s trend. It is also a pretty decent workout, and cheaper than the gym. Sara and I both have been eating healthier this week, and it’s only been a few days, but I honestly can already tell the difference in my alertness and emotional wellbeing- I just feel BETTER. And I have lost 6 lbs (we got a new scale) since when I went to the doctor roughly a month ago, and that should keep progressing since we’re eating more protein, less crap. I have been doing a little quickie DDR on my lunch as well, before picking up my food and going back to work- it’s better than sitting in front of the computer and slouching, and I feel more energized when I get back. And I’ve been doing morning yoga as well, to stretch out my back and stuff. So far, this is great. And I can still have a glass of red wine in the evening:) Hooray!

20/20 1 year ago

After a two year absence, I finally saw my eye doctor- and got new contacts. I can SEE! I’m getting the new prescription in my glasses next week, after I get paid. I’ve done DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) for the past two days on my lunch and after work, and I think today I’ll take the evening easy. And look at stuff:P

So- I finally lost 4 lbs after the horrible Paxil incident! And I’ve been eating well, drinking lots of herbal teas, and I even did DDR on my lunch with Mandy, instead of taking a valium to relieve stress:) I’m very pleased with this turn of events- I worked out and steadily gained weight, but now, with less drastic changes is diet and moderate exercise, I’m finally going in the direction I’d like to head towards (and all my clothes- I despise shopping, and have borrowed Sara’s clothes, which look much better on her curvy figure than on my short stocky one). So SO happy to see the fog lifting off this stagnant point in my life- and my energy level is getting better as well, without all the caffeine. Hopefully I will be much better off at my next doctor visit in December, and even look forward to it:)

A Good Week So Far 1 year ago

I have done two mornings of pilates/yoga, and have been eating healthier- I did skip this morning, due to being under the weather. But I’ve been drinking a LOT of herbal teas, including some bulk herbs that are good for colds, and it really does seem to be working (although it’s all roots, and tastes like a$$, to tell you the truth- takes quite a bit of honey to kill that taste), and my nightmares have been decreasing in frequency. I believe I’ve lost a little weight, but I won’t weigh myself- I’m just doing the jeans test, the scale makes me paranoid. If I feel better this evening, I’ll try to do some light exercise maybe. But I did start the day off with yogurt and some hot teas, and only one cup of coffee, so that’s still good:)

Renaming, and Re-evaluating 1 year ago

I was concentrating on losing 20 lbs. I’ve decided that living healthier was a much more important goal, and if I do that, I’ll lose the (realistically) 15 lbs, not 20. When I was working out, I was 132-135 lbs, and I looked just fine at that weight. I’m tired of being sick, being sluggish, and running out of energy. So I need movement in all forms- what I consume, how I work, how I relax, and how I workout. I did some yoga Monday, I needed some sleep yesterday (I’m still withdrawing from evil Paxil, which has made my sleeping habits bizarre- and it’s been over a month of tapering off). As I will be working late today, I’ve decided to do a morning yoga session before work. So let me go do that:)
