it occurred to me the other day 2 years ago

that i spend more time interacting with the folks here on 43T than i do with the people i actually know in real life. as much as i love the people i’ve “met” here, i need to take a step back and focus on folks i have relationships with outside of cyberspace. no offense to anyone here whatsoever.

i finally called my friend in hawaii last night 2 years ago

i was only able to leave a message, but at least i got off my lazy butt and called after like a month or something since she left her message for me. next up: my aunt georgia.

maybe if i make a list of all the people i've been out of touch with 2 years ago

then i can go down the list and get caught up with all of them. so far, i’ve been very lax on this goal, so i’m kinda grabbing at staws here. i’m not a phone person. e-mail can seem so impersonal. but i guess it’s better than nothing.

i've gotten a handful of calls and e-mails in the last week 2 years ago

i need to make sure that i respond to all of them in a timely manner. that will be a step in the right direction. after that, i think if i can send an e-mail once a week or once every two weeks, i can make a habit of this.

this used to be "be a better friend" 2 years ago

but i think that keeping in touch – making phone calls, sending e-mails and letters – is really at the crux of what i’m getting at here. it’s more to the point. i think taking an active involvement in their lives will make me a better friend.

i should start by keeping in touch better 2 years ago

i’ll have to carve out some time to send some e-mails and make some phone calls this week.
