Me (walking into a meeting having a wool wrap around my shoulders): Sorry I am late.

Client: Where’s your coat?

Me (remembering my flippant colleagues) : I pawned it. Times are tough you know.

Client (quickly covering his face so that I couldn’t see him grinning): ...

by taking control of my time 2 years ago

I am selling my time for money when I work. I need to take control of my time by deciding what is worth my time and what is not. After all I only have a fixed amount of time allocated to me, I might as well make the best of it. Even if I decide to spend 50% of my time watching infomercials it would still be my decision and not because I have given ownership of my time to someone else.

Ever the cynic.. 2 years ago

I just realised that I have no career aspirations – I am not interested in climbing the corporate ladder. I dont give a flying fuck about having my name in one of the bigger, bolder, 3-D shadowed boxes at the top of the org chart. I don’t even want to be the subject expert in any field. And I don’t give a rat’s ass as to who likes me or hates me at work, even with Peer to Peer reviews in place. I just want enough money so I can enjoy my job without having to be pressured to perform to someone else’s expection or agenda. I think I should downgrade my expectation of my job – that it should be challenging and ego fulfilling – and take up something easier, but with MORE MULAH. If I want to fulfill my life I can do so in my spare time – I am sure I will enjoy my life much more this way.

Ramblings 3 years ago

Life is a journey with milestones.. As we are catapulted towards the destination by the hands of time we should also perceive the view along the way with our inner eyes; we have to be actively aware of both time’s passage as well as the changes in our lives and our spirits. We have to make use our time efficiently, but not to a degree of trying to perfect that efficiency. Instead we should aim for 60% and spare 40% of our attention to the world around us – how it changes and how we react to the change.

The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall. -Vince Lombardi

When does intuition turn into paranoia? 3 years ago

I can sense vibes on the spot.. but sometimes I pick up more clues in retrospect. I’m not sure if the post-event clues are just me being paranoid or not – need to find a balance here!

Positive Affirmation 3 years ago

Why do high school dropouts get to manage ivy league graduates? Because they are confident, assertive, even though half the time they probably dont know what the hell they’re on about; but they believe in what they say and that confidence puts others at ease.

Anyway, I digress some what; the point being power of the mind and faith in the self is vital in creating your own destiny!

In the making! 3 years ago

Something is happening. I am not sure what it is, but it feels kinda warm and fuzzy.. wait, I’m just sitting on my stupid ugg boots.

Destiny, as opposed to fate, can be changed. I want to create my own destiny and live it.
