First, I changed myself, becoming more spiritual. You can only get through to someone, if you have first taken the plank out of your own eye. I apologized for being selfish. Then I offered a few stories about myself, choices I had made that didn’t always turn out so good. I stopped yelling, all of this opened up the lines of communication.
