How I did it: Accepted the invite on 43things.com.  Immediately went to kiva.org, searched for the 43things group and joined it at the kiva site as well.  I have Kiva credit inb stock so I will add another loan to celebrate the ones in my portfolio now... Read how I did it…

How I did it: Got an invitation to my first one.Invited myself to the next ones...The trick is to be a subject matter expert in something.  Whether it is as an end user, a member of the public, a mathematician, or the best file clerk in the industry.  Any expertise you have that the others do not, is valuable, and a reason for you to be at a meeting. I saw a sign today.

It was in a neighborhood I was driving through.

A prominent, yellow sign.

One of several of its ilk in the same block.

FORECLOSURE SALE

It brings the story to home.

This was once a proud house, in a proud neighborhood.

It was built in 1915 and had seen many ups and downs through its life.

Until now it sits.

Unloved.

Cold.

Abandoned.

Only the wind whistling through its broken windows giving gaunt song to the once proud frame of what was once someone’s home.

A recession is when someone you know loses their job. A depression is when you lose yours.

The fallout is signs like these.
