I’d heard of the Cadillac Ranch outside Amarillo for years but thought it was too far from my hometown to get to as a youth. The first time, I was able to see the Ranch was in 2004 as we sped by at 65mph and my mother went “Look the Cadillacs!” (but couldn’t stop because she was driving her 18-wheeler).
However, I finally made it last week! Yay! Another goal completed. We arrived just in time for the sun to set on the Route 66 landmark and interact a bit with fellow drifters. I highly recommend any and all to take a few moments to stop off on Exit 60 along I-40 and marvel at this original art statement that could only have been conceived of by a true-blooded American
