I need to stop this...  — 23 hours ago

It’s not healthy at all for you. I can’t think of a single positive thing that comes out of it. I can think of MANY negative things though. Why do I drink this stuff? I mean, man it tastes good, but so does green tea and the like.

I need to stop drinking Soda.

falling behind  — 3 days ago

even though I don’t really care for the taste anymore, I have been falling behind with this goal. I’ve been moving into my dorm room and they have been giving out free sodas and I took a couple. I have been drinking more water than sodas but I still feel bad because I really wanted to get over my addiction. Today I got an apple juice though, which was good, but still not to happy. My dad even went out and bought me an entire case of pepsi for my dorms and I know the only thing keeping me from drinking some is the fact that they are hot. I plan on keeping them that way too. I hate hot sodas

Better  — 1 week ago

I haven’t actively been giving up soda, just for the sake of giving up soda (and whatever help benefits may ensue). But I have been consciously improving my diet in conjunction with working out in order to improve my health and weight. This has resulted in less soda. It’s great! I’ve gone from probably 100oz of pop a week to maybe 12. I don’t crave it anymore. Yeah, a Dr. Pepper always sounds good, but I remember how it makes my mouth, my teeth, my stomach, and mostly my conscience feel. And I genuinely don’t want it.

I love it.

this is not going to happen anytime soon..  — 1 week ago

Water is so much better than soda.  — 1 week ago

I need to remember this. It’s hard though because I absolutley love ice cold coca cola. I use to drink 6 cans a day and was addicted to the caffine. I have overcome the caffine addiction, but still drink non-caffinated sodas and a coke occasionally. I don’t think I can give it up cold turkey so I’m going to try cutting back to one per day.

carbonated water :)  — 1 week ago

I just like having an ice-cold can of carbonated drink on my desk at work. I believe sipping it helps me concentrate, although I would have no good argument why that is.

My parents never had anything else but milk or water or home-made fruit juice in the house when I was growing up (apart from tea and coffee and occasionally a beer for the adults), and getting a glass of Coca Cola at someone else’s house was something special.

For several years I tried to convince the people who filled up the vending machines at my work to include carbonated water in the machine – so I would get the carbonated drink I wanted so badly, minus the sugar and minus the additives.

They resisted fiercly, saying it’s not worth it because people don’t drink it so much. I pointed out that the machine was standing right outside my office, I worked 14 hours a day, 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year, and would probably empty it days before they came to fill it up again. But no chance.

Now I work at a different location (for reasons unrelated to the vending machine, haha) and to my delight I found canned water in the vending machine outside my new office, hurra!

I definitely feel less guilty about my canned drink addiction now, and zero sugar means zero calories, too :-)

I quit Dr. Pepper.
it was hard.
but i was forced to go a month and a half without it. i went on a trip.. since then, i just wanted to see how long i could go. i haven’t had one in a while, i’ve only had 2 since being back.

This would help me  — 2 weeks ago

in so many ways! I guess I don’t drink too much soda, but cutting it out completely would help me lose the weight that I’ve been dragging around for the past five years at least. And my teeth would be healthier, as the rest of my body as well. I’m trying to drink more water as well, because it fills you up as much as a carbonated drink, and it’s healthier for your body!
