Worth doing!
ohh no i lost a sweety

I bought my first Guitar! Its a pretty little acoustic, just right for me! I’ve had it for about a week now and have been practicing for an hour every night. I love it! I figure I’ll teach myself as much as I can from my Book that I bought but will take some profesional lessons as well once I get better.
I’ve always wanted to play. I’m a music obsessive like a lot of people. I’d owned a crappy electric guitar [I’ve only just realised that it’s not even full sized.pfft] for a couple of years and thought I’d teach myself. I’m not the most motivated person when i’m not good at something so I obviously failed at it and never got around to getting lessons especialyl due to moving abroad and then back again then being absorbed into Alevels. Ok, and anything else available.
I decided that this summer, before i finally get to go to uni, I would actually do something productive with my time but it was again put off for a month, leaving me only 3 weeks. A cheap, secondhand acoustic was bought [I had to leave the other at home due to baggage allowance] and I got my act together and had a lesson. I’m not all that confident about it but the bloke was really nice and I already feel like there’s some change. Thing is, since the lesson, I’m back to feeling like I strum wrong or perhaps I’m paranoid…the walls in australian houses are thin! Everyone can hear everything…..

I’ve been playing guitar for 2 guitars but theres always more to learn…
Worth doing!
and rewarding. I’m not that good at all and stopped playing mostly, but it’s still fun to do every once in a while.

Buy a guitar. Ben is going to help me with this, and step two: con a friend into teaching me

it’s not a guitar. But it’s all I’ve got right now. And practicing really does make a difference when it’s something you enjoy. Since the thing sits around the living room, I pick it up occasionally (more than once a day) and find the chords. I still only know three or four but yesterday I managed to pick out the chords to “Sweet Betsy from Pike.” I had previously found tabs for it on the internet but they didn’t make any sense, didn’t sound like any song I’d ever heard so I just used F and G7 and C again and figured it out on my own.
Still can’t get the hang of finding and learning new chords but my dad had a whole bunch of ukulele songbooks so maybe I’ll snag some of those when I’m home.
I was really proud of myself for getting these 2 songs. They were ones my dad used to play.
Have you seen this guy ? No way I’ll ever be that good. Wow.
Worth doing!
I suspect I currently play guitar about as well as a sizable percentage of dudes who say they play guitar. I therefore call this’un done.
