Worth doing!
If you want to learn Spanish, live in a Spanish-speaking country for a while.
I learned Spanish because I was dating a Mexican for one year, and he didn’t know English so my only alternative was to learn Spanish, and it really paid off.
Since I was using it all the time, I understood native speakers and could speak with them
I still can understand Spanish…also I only listen to Reggaeton/Bachata/Duranguense because I love the music.
I have only had 1 class in Spanish, and I am almost fluent in the present tense. Of course I need to learn more in classes, but dating Cesar for a year was the best move I’ve done.

Obtained a copy of Rosetta Stone software. This will help.

I’m considering fleeing the country and heading to Mexico by myself for two weeks in late August. The thought of being at home with my parents for three weeks with no structure to my days, and everyone I know at work, while already pretty fuckin depressed is enough to make me want to crash my car. Getting away from everyone and everything, and doing something productive and independent would be amazing. The classes are insanely cheap (like $115/week) and the homestay is $16 a night. Weekend trip to a cloud forest etc. for only $20! Only problem is airfare… and flying into Mexico City and then taking a 6 hour bus ride to Oaxaca without speaking any Spanish, knowing the system. But maybe I should just grow some balls and do it. My brother says you’re young, it’s time to live. My sister said do it. I think I just might.
i knew more spanish. my mom lived in costa rica for almost 2 years, so she always wanted us to learn spanish. i was in spanish classes 4 years of my elementary school career. anyway, i understand bits and pieces but i really want to be able to carry on a conversation, especially living in an area where it’s a good idea to know the language. plus some day i want to visit spain, mexico, costa rica, peru, honduras, etc etc.
There are Spanish people everywhere in Berlin – the subway, the streets, concerts… I adore this language. Should I save up 92,50 Euro and sign up for classes in the fall term (3 hours per week), or put this on hold until I’ve done my degree (way more important)? I’ll make a decision in late August, when the registration period begins.
energy has applications in all over town
I finally got the Rosetta Stone from the library after having it on hold for 9 months! I only have it for 3 weeks, so I can’t count on actually using it to learn Spanish, but if it proves helpfull I’ll consider buying it… Although with my current job situation that chances of me spending that kind of money anytime soon are pretty slim.
absolutelyanna @ work as usual
Found some podcasts on iTunes from the Coffee Break Spanish site. They are downloaded to my Nano. now I just have to start listening…
Elana Bailey I've completed Spyro: a new beginning!
Currently in progess…
I have many books, audio discs and websites that I am using at the moment.
I’m studying Spanish at home at GCSE level, and taking it rather serious.
Adios!

“Is is possible at my age? I'm 46, and though I'm an educated person (Masters Degree), I've always sort of believed the old adage about no one being truly educated who hasn't learned a foreign language. What do you think? Can I do it at my age?”
