Does this count?  — 4 days ago

I’m moving to Aberdeen in a month, which is a city on the sea. I’m not sure if this counts as having achieved my goal or not. I suppose it depends if the sea is visible from a window of one’s house. I will wait and see…

Scuba diving once more, and in this lifetime.  — 1 week ago

Last year, when i was still happy and together with my soulmate, we scuba dived together. It was one of the most serene and beautiful moments in my life.
They say life’s most intense moments flash before you in the seconds before you die.. If i died, I know I’d see this memory, cool blue waters with the most gorgeous shoals of fishes, of silver, turquoise brilliance and aqua greens..swimming through my legs. The sound of my breathing, and sharing this unique moment with someone i truly loved once.
So i want to do this again, and i will one day.

I want a big house by the sea  — 1 week ago

One day I would like to live in Spain. Nijar, Almeria. Don’t know why i have had this romance with this place. Its barren, but with beautiful clean beaches and mountains. I love the ocean, but ever since i broke up, i get nostalgic and my stomach turns and i feel like throwing up. I get very emotional whenever i see the ocean. I would like to live by the sea one day to forget every old memory from my past relationship, and like therapy the ocean would bring me newer happier memories, so i can still live by the sea without melancholy.

i'm a mermaid  — 2 weeks ago

i have always been somewhat obsessed with all things water/sea/ocean. i love the perspective that the horizon gives me, the energy that the waves create, the calm- inducing state of a still morning, the childhood imaginings of mermaids & selkies playing in the depths, the blue greens make my heart happy…and of course there is seafood. : )
and, i was made to live at least part of my life in “resort” wear and barefeet.

swiisshh.. sshhh.. misshhh.. splash  — 2 weeks ago

out of everywhere i’ve travelled to, it’s the places with close access to the sea/ocean i’ve loved the most. leaving said places i find myself being tugged by something, and i just HAVE to get one last glance at that massive expanse that appears so easy to get lost in; the sea. the smell, the taste of the air when you’re close to it, the sound, the feel of the water, everything about it is just.. magnificent. even when it’s raging.
i’d love to do this and hopefully one day i will.

Not just for holidays!  — 2 weeks ago

I live as far from the sea as possible in UK but I would love to live by the sea at some time in my life. The Isle of Wight would be perfect. I love everything about the British seaside; the faded grandeur of the coast’s Victorian heyday, history, tradition and nostalgia, the stunning natural beauty of sand and sea, the cliffs and changing coastal landscape.

Worth doing!

It was to have been a vacation house. A place to go once in awhile, and otherwise rent out.

But, we moved into it.

And, I continued to commute to work. I left home in the dark, I got back in the dark.

I would love to live by the sea and not have a desk to drive to, somewhere else. And maybe that will happen someday.

The house by the sea is still there. And we talk from time to time about moving there, soon. About me giving up my desk job. It could happen.

Six months on  — 4 weeks ago

I took this picture six months ago on a moody day in Ayr. Today the sky was clear blue, the sun was bright and a light breeze kept the temperature in my comfort zone.

I took loads of pictures…and they were all dire! I need to start carrying my camera rather than rely on my iPhone (can’t see the screen in bright sunlight).

Best was stepping out of my car and taking a lungful of “sea air” (salt & sea weed!): no camera can capture that!
