My 2009 Resolution: 1 day ago

Reading the Bible this year. I’m on the “read the bible in a year” plan through CBN. So far, it is going well. I am always a day behind, though. I need to get better at that.
I am also reading “3:16, numbers of hope,” by Max Lucado and it is great.
I have done, and continue to, research various Christian websites and blogs to get some more insight.

I know it is kind of radical, but I am seriously thinking about living a very “conservative Christian” lifestyle for 30 days – Reading only Christitan books/websites, Watching only approved TV shows and Movies, listen to only Christian music, dressing very conservatively, etc…
It honestly is not that big of a stretch for me, but more structured/strict than anything else. Why do I want to do this? I think it will help to balance out my life, give me some perspective and help me to find a Christitan lifestyle that works best for me.
And, plus – I love experimenting and being a little unconventional.

Being like Christ 2 days ago

I hope that Christ will be seen in me.

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything under this particular goal, but I’m still here. I’m still believing in Him and His word and I’m ready for the wonderful lessons He’ll share with me in 2009.

My main goal for 2009 is to find a church that I’m completely comfortable going to. I want to be apart of a community and have fellowship with other people as they continue on their walk with God.

jamieleee this is the first day of my life..

funny how going to a biblical University has made me spend less time reading the word and growing closer to God. I don’t even go to church anymore. I don’t know what is stopping me. but something is for sure.

Totally taken forgranted 2 weeks ago

I always feel like I use Him as such a comfort blanket only when I’m sick in bed. I need to need Him all the time!

Will be doing this for the rest of my life!
What a joy, though! :)

Let Victory Begin! 3 weeks ago

I’ll bend My ear,
You lift your voice-
In THIS way, you’ll be heard…
I’ll send angels
To your aid,
If you’ll just speak My Word!
I’ve given you
All that you’ll need,
To run this race, and win…
So: On your Mark,
Get set, and go-
Let victory begin!

Choose Life! 3 weeks ago

Last week after much prayer and asking God’s guidance I chose my new life here in the wilderness. I also decided that some old habits had to die. The most important ones were my negative thought and speech patterns. Things have started to change very, very fast for the better. Today this message was in my e-mail. :)

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria Osteen

Every day we have the opportunity to choose thoughts of life and victory or choose thoughts of defeat and despair. God promises that when we choose His ways, we are choosing life and victory.

Imagine that you’re holding a glass of dirty water. It’s full of all kinds of particles, sand, and dirt. If you were to start pouring good, clean water into that glass and let it overflow, eventually, all the dirty water would be gone and you would have a glass of perfectly clear water.

Your life works the same way. You are renewed by the washing of the water of the Word of God. You may be carrying particles of dirt from the past. You may have old destructive habits or mindsets that you are trying to get rid of.

But the more you pour God’s Word into yourself, the more clean and alive everything becomes. Don’t choose to sit around with that mucky, dirty water on the inside of you. Allow His Word to cleanse you by reading and declaring it over yourself every day.

As you choose His Word, you choose His life, and you’ll experience His hand of blessing in ways you never dreamed!

Hmm... 1 month ago

As I sit at the computer in the luxury of my quiet office, Orthodox Jews are mourning the loss of hundreds of brothers and sisters in faith. The Mumbai attack is a reminder of just how real the threat to Christ is… I take for granted the ability to worship in peace without anyone coming in to kill me. I take for granted the call God placed on my life… And now here I am, sitting and wondering what must be wrong with me if I am taking for granted something that others died for. It’s just like voting to the black community. Because we used to be unable to vote, older black people cannot understand why younger black people do not go out to vote. And now I am wondering why I still have not committed myself to reading the entire Bible or even to daily study and meditation… I am doing the same thing that people who do not vote do. I am now making a change. Instead of growing in Christ, I was to mature in Christ. I want to go beyond the nothingness I have heretofore settled for. I am going to press towards the mark!
