know how to solve a rubik's cube

Here is a Youtube video [link] from “Pursuit of Happyness” featuring Will Smith as Chris Gardner, solving a Rubik’s cube. “It looks like it works around a swivel – the center pieces never move.”
Also features “speed cubers,” including Leyan Lo, who can solve the cube in 2 minutes…blindfolded.

As for me I just want to know how to finish the puzzle in the first place (without rearranging the stickers on the cube!) :)

That’s my time nowadays.

I know it’s not the fastest time around, but hey—most of the people who can get it done faster than me weren’t even born the first time I solved the thing!

Completely scrambled to solved in 7 minutes and 42 seconds without any cheat sheet!

solved three sides the other day… not sure how i did it, i havent been able to reprouce it again yet…. but i was really happy the other day when i did it

I never had any patience with Rubik’s Cubes when they first came out. Now I have the patience and desire to learn. I’ve bought a cube and taught myself how to solve the first layer. The cube came with a book telling how to move certain pieces in certain ways, so the next step is to learn those sequences of moves so in future I can pick up a cube and solve it from memory.

I’m using this technique which seems pretty straightforward.

Note that I say solve the first ‘layer’ not the first ‘side’... I think it’s important to think this way… it means that not only is one side correct, but also the stripe around the cube immediately next to the solved face is also correct.

Yeap, I can do this.

I solved 2 sides at once today!!!! It’s pretty damn easy for me to get one side down. However today I altered my approach and ended up solving the Blue and Orange sides….. it made me happy

learned over xmas break. just look up the steps and memorize them. then practice! than impress people. i learned from a guy named tyler at a pizza place.

well i just bought one today, i can already solve it one sided in a matter of mins. it’s almost too easy… although i haven’t figgured out the exact methods of solving it yet though….
