I want to give up the t.v as a way to decompress. T.v. offers no way for constructive though as it tells what and how to think. However when the tv is on i dont feel alone anymore, why doesnt music fill that space ? I love music and need to listen to more of it all the time.But the space between feels empty. Is it habit ? Like giving up smoking the space between feels odd ?

You’re at a CD store, and pick up a few CDs by some artists you like. Then you get home and realise you already had one of them on your shelf! Clearly my CD collection is too big!

So the problem with this, is that I’m not set up to listen to music well yet. I haven’t transferred my music library on my old computer to my new one, and I haven’t hooked up my stereo. I listen to Pandora now and then, but its not really the same as listening to albums. I also need to bring more CDs into my car (or get something to allow me to play my ipod in my car), and convince myself that its okay if I don’t listen to NPR for a car ride or two.

Listening to music used to be a big part of my life; I’m not sure why I’ve abandoned it lately.

How it always goes: you get busy and think you don’t have time to do things like kick back and listen to your favorite record. But when you take the time to do what you love, everything else works better and you get more done.
