Why stop at the eleventh hour? 5 days ago

Well, I’m already done with this goal but I’ll keep listing the movies I’ve watched here anyways. I don’t feel like taking up another movie goal – I’m not sure if I could make it to 200 movies but we’ll see.

153. The Punisher
Ouch. Sad.
154. Les Amants du Pont-Neuf
Ouch. Sad. :D I’m sorry, I can’t think of much to say now.
155. Princess of Thieves
156. Lord of War

(I also started watching Collateral but I couldn’t finish it because the dvd was in such horrible condition and I didn’t feel like fighting with it too much.)

Today I had a Studio Ghibli day! :)
I’ve been wanting to rent Porco Rosso and Tales from Earthsea for a long time now, but luckily last Sunday it turned out that my cousins had both of those movies (in addition to many other cool movies) so Janina borrowed them to me! Yay!
157. Porco Rosso
Coool. Funny movie, I liked it. Maybe not my favorite Ghibli, but still very good. The ending was mysterious, heh.
158. Kiki’s Delivery Service
I think I already watched this in January but oh well, I really enjoyed seeing it again and I’ll list it here as well. I probably have to buy this dvd at some point, this movie is so lovely.
159. Tales from Earthsea
I’ve been particularly interested to see this one, because I’ve read all of the Earthsea books (many years ago). It sort of bugged me that I couldn’t remember much from the books but as the movie progressed, my memory started to freshen up. Liked it.

Last week’s movies.

146. Alatriste
Quite boring. But at least Viggo’s always nice.
147. The Interpreter
Ooh, I liked this one quite a lot. Interesting.
148. The Dark Knight
I wonder if I missed a whole lot because I haven’t seen Batman Begins? Oh well. Went to the movies alone to see this, it was pretty nice. And Heath was absolutely awesome as Joker, whoa.
149. Notes on a scandal
Good actors, but this one gave me goosebumps. Pretty disturbing, but that was the idea I guess.
150. Edward Scissorhands
♥ ♥ ♥ My love. This one is absolutely one of my top favorite movies – has been for a looong, long time and probably will be forever. Words can’t describe how much I love it.
151. Finding Neverland
Awww. It was lovely to see this one again.
152. Big Fish
Mum wanted to watch this and I did not protest, even though I’ve seen it many times. I never protest with Burton’s movies, never ever.

79. center stage: turn it up. it’s like a washed up original combined with step it up. just awful.

Yesterday was certainly a movie day. First I went to the movies with Lily and once I got home, I just had to continue with some more movies.

143. Sauna
I have to be honest, normally I think that all Finnish movies are, well, crap. So I was just really hoping that this one would be worth the money because Lily really wanted to see it.
And I have to say… it was worth it. I was very surprised. And it was a freakin’ scary movie too! I literally jumped in my seat during the end scene, it was so horrifying! :o
All in all, I’d say it was a pretty good movie. It looked great, too. It was also fun to discuss about it afterwards with Lily and exchange ideas about what really happened. It’s always interesting to hear someone else’s perspective on things, especially with movies like this, when everything isn’t crystal clear.

144. Hostel (unrated widescreen cut)
D: Aaaghh!
First I thought the movie was just stupid, with the guys chasing girls, but then it got scary and then it got absolutely terrifying! My eyes were probably the size of plates when I wasn’t covering them with my hands. :,D
But it seems to me that the message of this movie was: “Americans, do not go to (Eastern) Europe, because they will kidnap you and kill you for fun. Because they hate Americans.” :,D Thanks, Tarantino and Roth, for this.

145. Bobby
After those scary films I just had to watch something that didn’t involve chainsaws and scary swamps. :D So I watched this movie about the day at the Ambassador hotel, when&where Robert J. Kennedy was murdered. I think this movie was quite good and touching, they had a great cast and most of the stories were interesting. I was really relieved to see in the end credits that none of the others died that night, because I really cried for some of them, eh. :p

142. Sin City
I can never get over how scary and disturbing Elijah Wood is in this movie.
Despite the gruesomeness and the violence and all, I really like the look of this movie.
