i want to move back to humboldt and live by the ocean
How to live by the ocean
How I did it: I set a goal and never let it out of my sight. I made the decision I would not move across the country without finding a job first, so I cleaned up my resume and sent it out to many companies in renewable energy. After being persistent with following up, and working hard at getting rid of many of my excess possessions, I loaded up my car and drove 2,000 miles to the beach!
Lessons & tips:
- Take a small vacation to travel around to 2-3 different areas that you would consider living in before you make the big jump.
- Be persistent and make a plan. Never let a day go by without doing something towards your goal, even if it is something as simple as a journal entry.
- Keep the dream/goal alive by taking vacations to your dream home, networking with others who live there, and doing all the research that you can on the culture/history of the location.
- Be positive, and realize that sometimes it can take a long time to transition and make a big lifestyle change depending upon your situation.

I want to live by the ocean someday! Someplace warm, with palm trees, and beauty all around. But, not someplace like Southern California because I don’t like the materialism and image-driven culture there. I would like to live in a beautiful place where people think for themselves and enjoy art, culture, and fun! Ideally, I think I’d like to live in France on the Mediterrainian Sea…

I wake up happy every morning because it smells like sand and sea. The temperature is beautiful. My apartment is bright and cheery. I stand on my patio and can watch the sailboats cruise by. Living by the ocean is so relaxing and serene that it’s almost made me into a new person. This is one of the most important things on my list and I’m so lucky to have already done it.

My goal is to have ten thousand dollars to get a small apartment or studio by the ocean by next summer….....to at least have a start on one years rent.

i already do.. but also for the rest of my days.
the ocean is my escape; it humbles me and brings me back down to Earth and in touch with reality. i realize how small i really am and how unimportant my problems really are. all is ok in the world when i am by the ocean. it is alive and full of the most amazing energy that i could not bare to leave again.
Well I haven’t been on 43 things in a while, and when I reviewed my goals the other day i was shocked to see that I can tick this one as completed, and it kinda happened by accident! I moved to a new university last year and my accomodation is a 3 min walk from the most beautiful beach. It’s so lovely to go and clear my head when all of the studying gets too much. I think theres something magical in the sea air, well worth it!
I’ve lived less than a mile from the beach for almost 2 years now. Most of the time I never even see it, but in the summers I am there at least twice a week. It’s so nice to hop on my bike and head off to the sand and fresh air!
My goal is to live by the ocean. I grew up about 5 miles away, but want to live even closer. It is where I feel the most at home.

I grew up by the ocean and I miss it.
