This can be easy to do around my Santa Claus/Easter Bunny/Tooth Fairy-believing daughter. She loves to learn, and everything is a wonder to her. It’s hard to break out of the workaday “grown-up” mindset, but when you do, how beautiful it is …

    4:10am  — 2 months ago

I was annoyed this morning by the loud twittering of birds which woke me up at 4:10 this morning. I’d left the window open because there was a beautiful breeze last night.

But you know, I’m glad to have the birds singing. With the pollution in the city and the crap they’re putting into our food supply, we’re lucky to still have any birds to listen to at all.

This was on my “new music” goal.

The wonder here is that it’s true what someone wrote about this: “my girlfriend said she can hear this album from the next room and orgasm”

Damn…it’s just so gruff and low and sexy….. What a fantastic way to hang out.

    Worth doing!

I’ve decided to check this goal off. Since it says never lose it, it would mean I would have to keep this here forever. And I don’t want to do that.

I know that I am always curious, and people tell me I ask too many questions. I don’t care; I like to learn. So, I still have my sense of wonder and don’t think I’ll lose it. If I ever do, I’ll put this goal back up. But it’s not necessary to me now.

    Worth doing!

It’s such an integral part of who I am.

never lose my sense of wonder  — 4 months ago

i have been called a “diamond in the rough”, because, everything used to be so wonderfully new and exciting to me as a teen. I was a very sheltered child, and once I got to expeirence life a little, I was often like a child that had seen a toy for the first time. I don’t ever want to lose that. I want there to always be something that amazes me.

    Wondergirl!  — 5 months ago

I never really seem to entirely lose my sense of wonder, although I have had times where I dangerously flirted with the idea of burying it. Nonetheless, it has completely returned with a vengeance over the last 9 months. :) Alas, the one thing-er, person-who never ceases to propel my wonder wheels is my daughter. She turned 4 in November and basically began to read. It was like electricity shot through her brain and it was with so much as a flicker. I was merely amazed with wonderment when she was plowing through level 1 “My First Readers”, but now she is reading books on a 3rd grade level at LEAST! We went to the bookstore this week and she picked up 5 books and just read ‘em to me only asking about a few words here and there (and mostly names to boot!). Yeah, she is my Wondergirl.

is there a trick to this?  — 7 months ago

is there a trick to keeping the “wow” in your mouth and the excitement in your eyes? if there is and you know it, please share.

I want to keep a child-like sense of wonder about the world  — 7 months ago

That way, whoever I meet, wherever I go, whatever I see, taste, smell, hear, feel, I will love and appreciate. I will care and give it the pure attentiveness that it deserves, because there is always something new to learn, always something wonderful to discover and be explored.

    =)

Today I was happy at work that I got 4 responses of customers who will be highlighted as customer spotlights. That means my email was effective and I get to interview them! What a rush for me! I am very happy, almost giddy really, haha, about this, but I shared this with my coworker and he’s like “what you want me jump for joy?” Umm…yeah. Share in my joy! LOL

okay anyways I never want to lose my sense of wonder. :) It’s okay to get excited and happy with the little things in life. That’s what matters right? =)
