How to start a Buddy Check 12 team here on 43things, in support of Breast Cancer awareness. Do your self-exam the 12th of every month."This has been the most heartfelt gratifying thing I've ever done."
How I did it: I decided I wanted to help get the word out about "Breast Cancer Awareness" by encouraging people to do their monthly self-exams. I am a survivor of this dreaded disease. Early detection saved my life. I sent out literally hundreds of invites to fellow 43T'ers who responded immediately in overwhelming numbers. The Buddy Check 12 Team is still active and reporting in every month on the 12th. Go Team!

Rana was amazed by the 1/2 moon and sky full of stars this a.m.
How I did it: Well, I signed up for this goal. Then I was reminded to do my self-exam each month. Knowing I had to "sign in" or "report", I am now consistent with following through with my monthly checks. Before, I would go months between my self-exams. This is a great goal, a wonderful way to be reminded. Well worth it. Read how I did it…

MMiller0601 had a lovely visit with family (for the most part...sigh)
I think I missed last month…but I’m all clear! Yay!
ann daniels is working on her succes
and all clear! Sorry to be absent for the past months but either I had my period on the 12th or I was out of the country so I did it later. BUT I did it anyway! I am much more aware thanks to Cheryls action here and I really would like to make even more young women aware so still thinking about some sort of action that I could use when I do trainings. I have the people there, now I only need a good way to bring it in and make them do it too. To be continued! Just for you to know that the fact taht I am quiet does not mean I am not involved because I am!
Abigail Come on people, now, smile on your brother.
Although I haven’t been great about putting in entries, I have been doing this every month on the 12th. Thanks, Cheryl!
and I´m taking this very seriously now as my friend who is only 29 years old was diagnosed with testical cancer last week. No matter how young you are, or how healthy you feel…a self-check is always worth it.
