i’ve been doing this for the last few days and it is great!
i eat so much less this way….
i almost forgot what it felt like to be hungry.
bad, i know.
How I did it: I started out by making it a goal to change things. Then in the evenings, whenever I would feel the desire to start eating, I would try to pick up my journal and write for a few minutes. This let me sort through why it was I wanted to eat - usually it was because of feelings of anxiety and stress over my life being outside of my control. And then sometimes I would still eat, other times I wouldn't. Slowly it got easier.
Lessons & tips: - Empty the kitchen of your favorite binging foods - this was bread products for me, like crackers, cookies, bread...
- Keep a journal, especially in the beginning. This really helps you to sort out what your feeling at the moment of crisis.
- Have a replacement activity, like yoga, to relieve the stress. Even if it just one pose you do, this can bring you back into your body and out of your head.
- Try to find another comforting activity to help you wind down from the day, like reading, taking a shower/bath, knitting, exercizing, cleaning.
- Eat a big breakfast. Really. Somehow, I felt like if I hadn't deprived myself at breakfast, i was less likely to overeat at night. I love oatmeal with dried fruit and a little maple syrup or brown sugar... great for foggy, cold mornings!

Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn’t. I do food share with my roommates, but I’m going to stop and start buying my own food. I will eat less because I will only eat what I want when I want if I’m buying my own.

but i really feel great.
i looked it all up, and i had a reasonable amount of calories though!

i ate so much today for no good reason! i need to stop drinking things with splenda it makes me crave food and i need to stay out of the kitchen. self disicpline! i now am only allowed in the kitchen if im hungry. otherwise i need to stay far far away.

I think i’m getting better at this and that is without working on this goal :D Really all i’ve been doing is working more but during my lunch break im not really that hungry so i dont eat that much thaen when i get home i have my dinner and then im quite often going out either to the gym or meeting some mates for drinks. I always knew that i only eat loads when im bored so now that i got more going on in my life im not thinking about food which helps me with this loads.
Don’t think i’m completely done yet but do think i’m moving forward at least.

this is a hard thing to overcome…
need to buy some more fresh fruits and veggies for that.
and maybe I will feel a shift, especially since I won’t keep getting that drop in blood sugar that all the crappy foods give me.

I’m still trying to find my balance… Some times I feel like just diving into a bag of chips… But I have to keep reminding myself that I’m only going to feel more miserable after the chips… I have to keep reminding myself that eating when i’m not hungry is only going to do harm to me and it will cause an inbalance within me… So I kick that thought of chips out of my head and go lie in the bed and sleep.
