redecorate my room

I’m currently, at this exact moment, having the carpet in my room torn up and hardwood floor going down!

Bought new funky bedcovers! Moved my bed around. Next stop – PAINT!

I want to redecorate my room.

Currently I have:

+ Disney Princess and Fairy bedsheets and pillowcase,
+ the walls are white,
+I have a grey carpet,
+ a messy table and mini bookshelf,
+the closet is full of clothes I just chuck in and if I opened it, all my stuff would probably fall on me.

I love it. If hell freezes over. Twice. Spring Cleaning doesn’t QUITE help, it gets messy in a day, two tops. Get the picture? When I’m done with redecorating, I will have:

+ a mural on my wall
+ an organized table and mini bookshelf
+ new or dyed bedsheets and pillowcases
+ a CLEAN and UNCLUTTERED closet
+ pretty rugs on the floor
+ a poster on the door that says ‘Debbie’s Room’
+ hooks for my school stuff

My budget is : As cheap as possible. That’s my dad for you. He calls himself a Smart Shopper. I call him C-H-E-A-P. Cheap. Like Mr Krabs cheap.

I painted my room a year ago and planned on totally redecorating, but haven’t got around to doing anything else yet! Well that’s not completely true, I built a headboard with my dad’s help BUT we finished it in July and it’s still sitting in the garage waiting for paint! By the time I get my room looking good it’ll be time to move out!

there’s only so much you can do with a dorm room, but for me this is a continuous process. i’m always adding new things and having new ideas!

...i think i’m ordering the furniture tomorrow! Spent yesterday afternoon and this morning choosing, measuring and designing my room plan in the store. They even provided me with printouts of what my room will look like (as designed on the computer).

It means does mean i need to find someone to lower the radiator and plaster my wall in the next few weeks (an almost impossible task, gah!) Oh and i need to repaint, the walls are embarrassingly grubby.

I’ve got a nice green and white bedspread, and this small elephant figurine gifted to me.

Now I just need to find curtains to go with.

The walls and floors are DONE and i love it :D

My walls are a very plain and boring white. There’s also stains and lots of holes from tacks and such on them too. I live in an apartment so none of these were exactly caused by me f.y.i. :P

Since my bedding is a dark blue, I was thinking of a light blue for my walls just to start. It’ll really give my room a nice, calm feeling to it, which I’d love for it to be! Once it’s painted, then I can start on other things as well.

I’ve painted my walls a deep plum color. I got these black sheer curtains and this gold fabric that looks like molten gold that I’m going to make into more curtains that will go on the same rod. I have a huge collection of magazine pages, postcards, photos, random things that inspire me, to make a kind of collage on my walls.

Stuff I need to to:
-get new bedding and pillows; I want alot of different fabrics, kind of a Morrocan vibe, with lots of red, black, gold, purple, and blue
-get an antique world map to hang on the wall
-finish painting woodwork
-sew and put up curtains
-tape up wall things

Hopefully I can get this done soon, I’m wicked excited about it.
