I took my first of two certification exams today! I feel really good about it and am hoping for the best. If I pass, I will register for the second exam and hopefully be fully certified by January.. and I also hope to have a job. This is a critical time and I need to stay focused… crap its hard sometimes.
And to be honest, I am so worried about getting a job right now. They are scarce… my stomach will be in knots until a principal offers me a job.

I am getting close to completing this goal! I am in week 10 of 12 in my student teaching. Next week and the week after, I will be doing ALL of the planning and teaching. I am really looking forward to that time. I adore the kids and I think I would be really happy in the 2nd grade. I take my PPR on Nov. 8th and assuming that I pass, I will register for my content test. Let the job hunt begin! I am getting pumped!

I am now in my second placement for Student Teaching and it looks to be as amazing as the first, although it is on the opposite end of the spectrum! I have 4 12th grade AP Brit Lit classes and 1 12th grade Applied Communications (remedial) class…..Kids these days are quitre enormous!! Must be all the steroids in beef/dairy….could be preservatives….at any rate, we’ll see how this goes :)
im in the beauty industry so id like to be a professor of cosmetology. if this doesnt satisfy my teaching goals then ill work towards an english literature teaching position.
I am a future kindergarten teacher.
I have been working for a private school as a substitute and in the office. I like it but not nearly as much as I would having in my own class :)
I’ve been really fortunate to be working at the school while I am a student. It seems like I have forever left until I am certified..

I’m studying to become an english teacher. This is only the first year and it will take altogether four years to become a teacher, but I’m really happy that I chose to become one :)

I really love children. I am in school right now working towards becoming an early childhood teacher. I am student teaching and loving every minute of it. I can’t wait to finally run a classroom of my own.

I really love teaching. I am student teaching right now and I will hopefully get certified this semester so that I can secure a job in the spring. Being in front of a class is a comfortable place for me. Young children are amazing and they have so much to show this world. I will always remind them that they have a voice and have something really important to say.
I have five weeks left in my placement… I’m so close I can taste it! Official graduation date will not happen until June 2009, which sucks because I want it sooner to make it ‘official’ so i can begin other training initiatives!
Right now, I’m applying for jobs outside of my region. I don’t want to leave but there are none for me here. Time will test my relationship with M to see if it is strong enough to endure this as well.
fingers crossed for employment

“I'm very interested in teaching elementary school. The only thing is, I can be shy. My question is, can you be shy and be a teacher? Or is shyness something that you overcome once you start teaching?”

“How can I get teacher certification somewhere without going back into a teacher preparation program? I'm currently studying my Masters in ESL but teacher certification is what I really need.”
