take care of my house and garden

I’ve just organised for our gardener to spend a few hours weeding and tidying up the garden. It has got out of control so I’m happy to pay someone with more time and patience than me to clean it up!

Weeds. They seem to taunt me. I look at my garden and there they are, amongst the river stones, sprawling all over the place as if to say, “it’s going to take you hours to pull us out and even if you do put in the effort, you’ll miss most of the roots and we’ll grow back anyway!”

But I won’t be beaten! I’ve just spent over half an hour extracting some of the worst and maybe I’ll attack the remainder later.

Or maybe I’ll take the soft option and pay a gardener to do it!

It took several hours but our courtyard looks a whole lot better than it did at the start of the day. Satisfying!

As I had lunch in my courtyard today I was reminded that I need to devote some time to cleaning it and the garden. Specifically, weeds need to be pulled out, the courtyard needs sweeping and cleaning and the spiders need to be encouraged to build some new webs!

Hopefully this Sunday will provide an opportunity.
