I think I was always putting too much emphasis on learning it all, that nothing would stick.now I’ve been focusing on just what I need for a test and things actually stick in my head more. Raised one grade letter as well!

How I did it: Ever since I was in Elementary school, I've said I was going to take French someday. Now, I was finally able to make that come true. I'm taking French in high school now and I LOVE IT. It's a pretty fun language to learn, and it's not that hard either. Now I really want to go to France and practice speaking it. (:This is just my first year, but I plan on continuing the course for the rest of my high school years. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I have been in French class since 8th grade (currently in 11th). My teachers have been very good, and I'm planning on continuing on through college. If you are no longer in high school, i suggest you do some kind of a stay in France, because emersion is the best way to learn a language. If that is not possible, you could always purchase a Language CD at a store, listen to french music, and read french websites. The more you incorporate it… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I took it, and struggled with it in high school. I promised myself I'd never take it again, but this year I'm actually finding that speaking it is fun and useful. Read how I did it…

i took french classes about 4-5 years ago. i was really good at it, i enjoyed class. but then i had to quit because i didn’t manage my time too well and i needed to study for school. so french lessons being an extra-curricular activity, had to be dropped. after that i did take another class about 2 years ago, but this time i had to stop prematurely too. bad time management again! i really want to learn french, but now i’m apprehensive about signing up for formal lessons, i think i’m going to end up quitting again! can i learn it by myself? at least the basics? once i master that i might feel more confident about taking formal lessons…help!
I just started to learn French. I bought textbooks and CDs for NHK radio programs, which broadcast in Japan.
I’m going to study French step by step.
When I was a kid I started to learn Spanish, but fell off the rails almost immediately.
So this will be one project of mine that WILL NOT fail!!
(BTW I’m using a wesbsite called LingQ to learn French- it’s awesome- check it out)
I have some kind of love hate relationship with French studies. I kinda love the language and learning new stuff, but I hate how much of my time studying it properly would take. I haven’t put enough energy for it, cos I simply won’t have energy to do so right now. There’s too much going on. It might be possible that I won’t continue it anymore in the next semester. I think I should concentrate to other studies of mine. I have now learned the basics of French. I think that if I would learn it more if I have to use it at some point. Maybe it’s stupid to quit it now. Maybe I should go all those 4 courses. Well I can decide this after holidays. It’s not late yet then.
I cannot even speak English well done, but i still want to learn French!
streichholz getting used to a new, harsher way of living

i’ve been listening to french music, i’ve been in Paris for like 10 times now…
gonna live there…
A spoken language is primarily a skill, not a body of knowledge. So don’t “learn,” PRACTICE.

Soooo I thought French would be a logical 3rd language to follow my mastery of English (can you master your native tongue? I can write beautifully but I always totally lose at Scrabble) and my on-and-off Spanish fluency. But it’s hard! So many letters you aren’t supposed to pronounce, it’s like the OPPOSITE of Spanish where you hit every syllable like a nail.
I checked out a French workbook from the library. Someone already wrote in all the answers. Escargot! Noir! Eiffel!
