ride in a helicopter

When I was I don’t know, 4 or 5, I went on a helicopter ride with my Dad. Apparantly, since I can’t quite remember, the pilot asked how we were all doing and we all replied, and almost right after he dropped the helicopter STRAIGHT down and stopped inches above a river. I guess I peed my pants from the scare. LOL.

I’ve been researching companies for the past hour and a charter tour is running on average $450 per hour per person! Looks like ballooning is the far cheaper way to go.

Okay, so the ride was short, but now I can say I’ve been on a helicopter ride. As I already knew in advance, they were offering $10 helicopter rides off in a little corner of the Deschutes County Fair. I took up the chance, hoped in and went. It’s only the second time I’ve ever been in the air (surprising I’m sure) and I loved it. The other time was 14 years ago in a small plane and I hated it. Or, maybe it’s more like it was bumpy and scary. :)

Anyway, I will definitely do this again. Maybe something more expensive, longer and with a gorgeous view.

took the helicopter ride across the Grand Canyon, wow… what a ride that was, not only the joy of being in the helicopter itself but the view as well… yikes!

I’ll have to write that story. Two goof-off pilots, a guy sleeping in the back at the radar scope, a pointless mission, me in civilian clothes.

I loved it! Totally confirmed my goal to become a flight medic/nurse.

SAR helicopter: ride only a few inches above power lines, free fall, talked w/pilots, etc. It was awesome/amazing/unforgettable.

I did this while vacationing in Florida. It was during a thunderstorm and it was amazing. I would definatley do it again!

I love the view from high altitudes. I’m thinking scenic flight around Sedona.

It was a beautiful experience doing this over the island of Kawai. However, I thought it feel more like a rollercoaster ride or something – be a bit more thrilling. No butterflies in the stomach just a smooth ride. A great way to see areas of the island that you can’t get to by car.
