be a good father

My 10 year old son has expressed an interest in going hunting. He went with his grandfather to a bird shoot back in October and he got hooked. Yesterday, I purchased a Winchester 30-30 youth model for him. It was a used rifle that my brother-in-law came across. We picked up some 125 grain managed recoil ammo and come Wednesday morning, I am going to take him out in the woods early.

This will be a great opportunity for us to spend time together, teaching him about gun safety and how to enjoy nature.

I have previously spend so much time working and trying to achieve so much for other, that i have forgotten to take care of my kids.

I want to spend more time with them, to be a better father and a inspiration for them.

It’s such a pleasure.

Our daughter worries about the money.
Ok, sometimes money is an issue.
Particularly as we need some to be able to afford some renovation in our house.
But on the whole: there#s no reason to complain. Yet, our daughter thought, that we wouldn’t be able to afford a night out and a stay at a hotel.
Maybe we should spread more optimism about that topic.

This is of course the most important goal above all else to me, of course I believe that achieving the other goals will also help me achieve this one to and that all goals lead to this ultimate one.

Surprised both of my children with gifts – totally out of the season, no christmas no birthdays. I think they liked it.

With the confirmation of SKELETONQUEEN, and a nice lady that kept smiling at me in the restaurant we went to last night (at first I thought she was shamelessly flirting with me, but as she was leaving she said, “bye dad.” Then I understood), I’ll mark this one as goal done. There was a man in that same restaurant, that same day, that I was having a nice conversation with, that my son just entered the conversation and we all had a nice talk. It was obvious to me that the man appreciated the candor my son was expressing about how he enjoyed being accepted as a person and not being patronized as a child. So, thank you all. You really made my day.

I’m taking my son to Karate as much as possible. I’m getting engaged with making sure he’s well rested so he’s not sucking on his lower lip during class (it’s a sign that he’s tired and want’s to go mimis). I’ll try to guide him to be a good, respectable, & responsible person as much as I possible can, and what ever he decides to do with his life, I’ll still be there.

Could never be the end

I am gonna mark this as completed as I have just had two weeks on holiday with my wife and 5 year old daugther doing nothing and playing on the beach. I am my daughters best friend at the moment

Never stop being a good father though

Yesterday our 16 month old baby girl took my hand and dragged me to her bed to show her what all the things in a picture book were. It was my first work day after summer holiday and she was clearly missing me. She also smiles like a crazy when I come home… so cute :-)
