and basically I need to rewrite the whole thing. Sooooo, I’ll get on it today. I want to get it back to her in the format she wanted so she can tear it up, and get it back to me by the end of the day.

She’s going to review it today and send back comments right away. It’s only 2 paragraphs right now. I need it to woo a committee member. I’m one short.

I am trying to combine the core part of the dissertation
with the upcoming EU project deliverable. I hope I could speedup a
little bit on the core part of my thesis with this approach.

In the meanwhile, a paper needs to be finished by end of next month to meet the deadline of the conference. A outline has already be submitted to the repository to be reviewed by collaborators of this paper, hopefully, feedbacks could be available by mid of this week…

Must finishing my doctoral dissertation by end of next year.

on Saturday. I need to add a committee member (they keep leaving the university), and will be emailing a possible member today. I also need to touch base with another committee member. One minor committee member is president at another college, and I’ve not heard from him in a long time. I need to check to verify he’s still interested (fingers crossed). I’m getting close to completion and want to have everyone lined up for my defense. It feels as if I will actually do this.

Did about half an hour of research during my lunch hour yesterday to address a comment made by my chair. I had to put in overtime at work yesterday, so couldn’t do the rewrite, but I will tonight – if I don’t fall asleep. I am feeling like I’m on the brink of getting sick. I may stay home tomorrow to rest – and write.

Still working on rewrites. I meet this coming Saturday with my chair to review the abstract and recommendations chapter. I am so incredibly sad as I work, with the deaths that have happened recently, but I just keep going at this. I keep in mind my friends and my auntie, knowing they want me to finish. I say this in the most humble, sorrowful way. Life and death do not suspend because I have this degree to finish. It just keeps on.

I worked on 2 chapters, the summary/recommendations/etc., and one of the findings chapters. This is tweaking. I will do the lit review/history this week. On Thursday, my colleague who was working on his dissertation passed. This morning at 6 a.m., my dear friend who was working on his dissertation passed. I will finish this semester.

I got about half a page written. I continue to feel like this chapter doesn’t have to be so long or involved, but that I can condense it to provide sufficient historical context and to point the reader toward more in-depth sources, but doesn’t fill up 100 pages. I would like this section to be less than 10 pages of the lit review. I need to read some more dissertations. I’m checking out some today and this weekend from the library to review. I hope to get a better intellectual handle on what I know intuitively to be a good idea.
