I’ve got so much stuff in my room that i don’t even remember what i have and what i need. so now, i’ll try to organize it all….hope i can do it within a week…
How to clean out everything from my room that I don't need
How I did it: I full recommend "Flylady":www.flylady.net to anyone that needs helping clearing clutter from their lives. Through being subscribed to her emails I was constantly receiving feedback that I was worthy of living a life without clutter. Her catch phrases "You can do anything for 15 mins" & " Progress, not perfection" played over and over in my head. It has taken just over a year to get to this place but I am happy. I just takled a single drawer, box, place at a time and I wasn't perfect. If I wasn't able to let go at that time I put it back and moved on.
Lessons & tips: Start.
Go through and throw out the obvious rubbish
Go through wardrobe and donate all clothes that don't fit. If you lose weight etc etc you can always get more.
Set a timer for 15 mins and clear off the obvious areas. If you don't need whatever it is in your bedroom, put it where it lives, donate it to charity or throw it!
When the timer goes off, stop. Congratulate yourself on a job well done.

and it is amazing just how much I missed my room. It truly is becoming my sanctuary. A lot of it is done. I bought cute lil storage boxes for stuff that I want to keep but needs to be sorted (things like my school books, I really want to keep them for my children and scrapbooking projects). I only need to sort through one box and deal with the contents and then a couple of art drawers need to be organised and I am DONE.

My friend moved into my spare room that had been my office. I had taken the out all the furniture but the wardrobe was still chocka block full of ‘stuff’. She had quite a bit of stuff so the wardrobe had to be emptied. I put some in to the garage but the rest is in my bedroom. It needs to be sorted through…

I had a little relaspse as my friend gave me a WHOLE lot of clothes. BUT I am not complaining as I needed clothes in a smaller size. Some of these are still a little too small but I will fit them by my birthday in two months so I decided to keep them :)
Will have a tidy up/declutter today so room will be finished very soon.

I came home from my holiday MAJORLY motivated. Isn’t it funny what a broken heart can do lol. My friend came over and we rearranged my room. Thanks to all the decluttering I have been doing over the last year it was fairly easy. I have then taken any excess stuff out today while I am still motivated and I am going to put it back in one thing at a time and put it where it LIVES. If I don’t love it, use it or honour it I will throw/give away BEFORE it gets in my room.
I still want to rearrange stuff in a few drawers but that is not urgent and I will do this 15mins at a time ;)
I want to keep working on my goals breakdown and I feel that this is easier to do while my room is so nice. My life is really coming together so well and I am even applying for jobs as I type :) I am soo proud of myself and my progress. This will still be a little while off completing but only a week or so now!!! At least the room is pleasing to be in!

I am away at the moment so I will continue on my bedroom transformation when I return. I think that the roads are now open after the storms so I will be able to get back. I am going to watch movies with a friend tonight and then I might head home tomorrow. I miss my babies and even my flattie LOL

As I mentioned in my previous entry, my bedroom is no longer a haven. I want to return it to its haven status for several reasons. I want to enjoy spending time in my room. Clear spaces help me with my routines as it is easier to keep something clean than to clean from scratch each time. I will then be able to invite people over and give them a full tour of the house, something that I want to do this evening as I have a date…
So due to the time restrictions I MUST at least have it tidy tonight. I have 3-4 hours in which to make this simple transformation!
Step One: Sort out washing pile. I am fairly confident that it is all clean as I have been keeping up with washing despite being ill.
Step Two: Fold aforementioned clean clothes and put in draws nicely.
Step Three: Make my bed, I am in it a present so this may wait until a little later.
Step Four: Move anything that doesn’t belong in my room and put it in the rooms that it DOES belong in.
Step Five: Put things away that need to be.
Step Six: Wipe surfaces clean
Step Seven: Vacuum (my least fav job hense why it is at no 7 which is my fav number te he he)
Voila clean room
Next steps include ensuite, wardrobe etc but for today clean/tidy will be enough….

I was just thinking tonight that my bedroom has ceased to be a haven and if more like a dumping ground at present. I have been a little ill so I have been cleaning the house by putting everything in my room to sort out later! I want to stop this new habit and rectify it by sorting my room. Anything that doesn’t live in my room or that I don’t love, value and use is toast!
