First book was Carville and Begala’s “Buck up, suck up… and come back when you foul up”. It was pretty much a “how to be successful” type book with common sense for rules. But a good read nonetheless.

It seems whenever I put books on request at the library, they all arrive at once! I’ve got another Carville/Begala read on my table and two more books arrived at the library today. I hope I have enough time to read them all!

I feel like this goal is a little too broad, and everyday I see it I feel like a disappointment. So instead, I’m revising this to read “read a book THIS month”. and each month, i will start a new goal with a new book title. That way I’m working for a less infinite goal… and little by little I can succeed.

so i had to change my goal as two books a month proved a bit difficult for me. i didn’t even finish one of the books on my list because i was trying to read two. :( see how we go this month with one.

I miss fiction. School textbooks have taken over my life.

With school now this has proven really easy. Just read Brave New World, 1984 and beginning on The Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe. However, I am still keeping this goal up for a bit longer so that I can continue this.

The Talisman, and started Black House yesterday. Black House will probably take a lot more time for me to read since school started this past Monday.

I just finished reading an Elvis book written by Sonny West (former member of the “Memphis Mafia”; co-wrote “What Happened Elvis?”). I’ve read alot of Elvis books in my time… in fact, I’ve got two more on my table. Nothing really knew learned.

my list to date 1 month ago

1. Eric
2. Scar Tissue
3. Your Best Life Now
4. The Power of Now
5. Why Men Love Bitches
6. The Manual

Anyone with a good suggestion on a good biography…

A book a month 1 month ago

I don’t read enough anymore. I’d like to sit down and read a book one month, every month, for a year.

Yesterday I went to the library, and I brought home The Talisman, by Stephen King and Peter Straub. I’ve always wanted to read this one, and its sequel The Black House, so I’m glad I started with these for my goal. I have loved Stephen King books since I was allowed to read them, and have read a lot of them so far. My ultimate goal is to read everything he’s ever written.
