i know how to play one tune on guitar, and i’m good at rock band guitar, but i want to learn to play the real thing
How to learn to play guitar

happy and confident 
How I did it: I borrowed a friend's guitar and another friend of mine was a choir director and gave me a song and taught me a couple of chords. Not long after, I found another song with a couple notes and I taught myself! I later played it for the choir director and she encouraged me. I got good enough that I began to play my guitar in the choir with her as well as go to other places with her to play. I think because I enjoyed it so much that I learned quickly. I'm hoping to be able to afford my own guitar and tuner so I can get back to playing. It's something I really enjoyed.

I self-taught how to play guitar like 15 years ago. I used to write songs as well. I used to have time for these things, but now I’m a mom of 3 kids, and I feel tired all the time… I wish I can learn to play guitar and write songs again.

Today was my first lesson!

I was surprised that my teacher was much younger than me, but he was really good all the same! He taught me some excersizes to help me get my hands used to playing, and said that I should be able to play a song within a month. Wow! Much easier than trying to learn all my chords right off the bat!
