Taylor Evans happy holiday's!
i want to be a beach babe. B-)
Do it NOW! And don’t use the cold water excuse. I live in oregon and due to the improvments in wet suits, you can’t even tell the water is cold. I am, by traditional standards, an amazing surfer simply because I have a damn amazing time out there regardless of how many, or how little waves I catch.

I sucked…but I dont think I have ever laughed so hard at myself…totally doing it again!

I was born and raised in Southern California. I even lived in San Diego for a while, and yet I have never even tried surfing. This summer I want to at least try it!
carmencita13 needs to get out of town!
Tried surfing for an hour and was able to stand up for a long time around 3x!!! I will definitely do this again =)
I have just tried body boarding in Cornwall and absolutley loved it. It was the best free fun ever, why did no one tell me. I would love to have a go at surfing now. I know I will have to get myself up on the board and that is a bit of a worry. Anyway I have a year to get lots of upper body strenght (I think I have good balance) before I go back down to Cornwall and take my first lessons. Might need to save up for a few lessons!
I finally tried surfing & it was so much fun! I got prepped by learning to catch waves on a boogyboard & then i was pretty much ready to surf, its easier than I thought it would be, though I couldn’t stand up, the whole thing is just a lot different then I’d imagined, but in a good way! It is the hugest rush when you’re riding a wave I couldn’t stop smiling it is one of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced. I hope to surf a lot more.
I’m going to visit my brother this weekend, he has been learning to surf for a few weeks now. I’m not sure how good of a teacher he’ll be, seeing that he can barely to it, but my goal is just to say i’ve surfed, if i can stand up for a few seconds I’ll be happy.

Here’s a picture of the munchkin and I by the water. I look a bit “squinty” because even though it was cloudy outside it was also very bright. (If you’re wondering why the kiddo is trying to climb me, I think the water was a bit too cold for her liking.)
I didn’t get tangled up in seaweed or lose any fingers or toes to any hungry creatures of the deep. lol.
We ended up going to Tourmo. I never did get all the way up on my feet, the closest I got was onto my knees. Balance wasn’t so much of a problem—it was my arms of mush that really presented the difficulty. I just didn’t have the upper body strength to “pop” up onto the board. This makes me want to make Goal 33 that much more of a priority. ; )
Well that, and all the people with disgustingly fit bodies. lol.

who’s an avid surfer, has promised to take me surfing sometime during my visit here in San Diego. I’m looking forward to it, but I’m a little nervous too. I just hope I won’t drown myself, or get seaweed up my nose, or be used as a chew toy by a hungry shark…
