laux is working on #1!

this needs to happen 1 day ago

I can’t stress enough how bad this needs to happen.

Right now, I’m working 2 jobs and going to college. The problem comes in because of the difference in schedules. My earliest class is at 11, while I usually get up for work at about 6, so it’s not particularly consistent.

Anyway, enough excuses… I even moved my alarm clock far enough away so I had to get out of bed and walk over to it before I could shut it off. The other day I STILL snoozed for an hour. An hour!!

Wow! 1 week ago

Today, I woke up at 6am, considered going back to sleep… and got up anyway!

I've been so good with this lately 1 month ago

I get up when my alarm clock goes off, or after one snooze almost every day. Well, everyday when I have school…I’m getting so sleep-deprived because I have so much homework, so I sleep in where I can…today I wanted to go to Valu Village before I met my mom for lunch, but I decided to sleep instead. Oh well, probably for the best!

Okay, so 3 months ago

I’m really, REALLY bad at this now. Two days in a row I’ve set my alarm (two of them) and turned off both, gone back to sleep, and woken up late. I think I just need to go to bed earlier…However, I do forget what day it is almost every morning…which is bad as well.

Boooooo

Bypass your brain! 3 months ago
This method is from stevepavlina.com: One night before going to bed have a wake-up training session.
  • Set the alarm to sound after a minute or so.
  • Go to bed, turn off the lights, take a good sleeping position.
  • When the alarm goes off immediately jump out of the bed, stretch, and walk out of the bedroom.
  • Repeat the previous steps 10-20 times. The idea is to bypass your brain by preconditioning.

Your brain may be suggesting you various things about getting up, but with preconditioning you don’t give it a change… you are already out of the bed when the brain wakes up to protest :-)

(if you ever fall back to not getting up immediately simply retrain yourself)

I have done that before and it works. Now I have to do it again…

man, i’m so bad at this! there are some days where i can just wake up by myself without an alarm, but most of the time, i’m nearly impossible to wake up, even with more than one alarm. i think my biggest problem right now is i’m not going to sleep early enough. hmm, maybe it’s bedtime for me…

So, waking up wasn't the problem. 4 months ago

It’s definitely /getting/ up. I woke up and got up super early yesterday easily, no alarm clock. I couldn’t sleep last night & had only had three hours when my alarm went off, so I slept for about an hour more and then was able to get up and go running.
I’ve been switching to a Raw diet and for the past two days, I haven’t been able to sleep more than 6 hours a night. Last night was probably because I took a nap after donating blood/plasma.
One more goal officially started.

What´s the matter with me? 5 months ago

It doesn´t matter how much I try to persuade myself when I go to bed, if I don´t have to go to work I can´t get out of bed in the morning. Any suggestions?

KT is happy :)
