How I did it: I've been plodding my way through countless websites and reading everything and anything I can get my hands on about passion and finding out what really gets you excited and makes you happy. Today I found an online article that I made me sit down and think and think and think some more. I finally realized I knew what my passion was all along....I just needed to change my perspective and suddenly it came to me what I really want to do with… Read how I did it…

So i found this website by accident…or maybe it wasn’t? I am 43 years old and have been a hairstylist fro 20 years this december…
i owned a salon for 10 years but gave it to my husband when we divorced. (he runs it, doesn’t do hair) anyway…
i’ve worked in 3 different salons since i got divorced 2 years ago and i feel empty. I don’t feel the passion like i used to. I’m used to running the place…feeling like it was mine, like i belonged. now i feel like i work for someone even though i’m self employed and make my own hours. im currently looking for part time work because i need the money and im trying to find my passion but have no idea where to start.
I’ve been asked a million times “Naomi, what is it that you love?”
my answers can never be put in a category so it seems impossible to search for work that will feed my soul.
Another question i get asked a lot is “If money wasn’t an option, what would you be doing with your life?”
wouldn’t we all be laying on a beach with a margarita?
help?

One thing about finding your passion on a budget: it’s hard. Everything costs money and time which I cannot afford at this time. I have been doing alot of research online though and when I can afford to take some classes I most definitely will.
I have kids, a fairly decent job, a few pets…but I haven’t found my total passion, something to keep the momentum of my life going. I am searching for it…is it animals? Or helping people? Or what? I love my kids but they have their own interests and lives…they don’t need me all the time any more. I am taking courses yet I am still searching.
I was faced with the question, “what is your passion?”, a few months ago. My response was, “what is the definition of passion.” What does it mean to be passionate about something?
I’ve googled it to death and have been searching through lots of self help books but didn’t find a satisfactory answer til now from Deepak Chopra.
Passion – when you do something with passion you express every aspect of who you are, release all the energy you possess, put yourself on the line, throw everything you have into a pursuit and expose all your defects and weaknesses.
I really liked this definition, however, I’m still trying to pinpoint exactly what my passion/s is/are.

Photography was the one thing I enjoyed during Art class in high school. I’ve always been envious of the students I advised who were studying photography. I’ve decided to pick it up again and plan on taking classes next Fall!
My co-worker lent me his Minolta SRT-101. It’s an old school 35 mm and I’ve been loving every minute using it!
It is literature; how could I fool myself? It will always be literature.
I shall write in my journal now, and read some Oscar Wilde.
(But I still adore music and art).
My husband found his passion… cooking. Watching him has inspired me to find something to be passionate about!
I hate working. I don’t know of anything I’d like to sit and do all day to pay the bills. There are so many things that I want… just none of them are work-related. I want to get married, have kids, travel and spend time with my family and friends. That’s it. I don’t see a money-making idea in there.
Every morning I get up and go to work. I sit in a cubicle all day doing something that means nothing to me. I want to do something I love. I need to discover my passion.
