I want to lose weight, so here is the basic jist of my meal plan each day:

    Cereal
    Banana
Ham sandwich with lettuce/mayo/mustard on wheat
Watermelon/Honeydew/some type of fruit or melon
Extra gum/lots of water at work
Some type of fruit when I get home
    Vegetarian meal my mom cooks

    and

    on occasions:

one cookie or a weightwatchers ice cream sandwich

And I am building up my endurance on the treadmill…

but ultimately, I want to cut out all of the junk that I eat. Sometimes I do good, but other times I don’t.

I went about 3 times over my normal caloric intake yesterday  — 2 hours ago

and yet I ate very healthily, more or less!! Here’s what I had and my caloric estimation. (some items I know based on the nutrition facts, but others I had to approximate.)

    yesterday:
    kashi go lean cereal 140
    flax seeds 100
    banana 100
turkey and cheese sandwich with mustard on light whole wheat bread 200
    3 plums- 100
100 calorie york chocolate bar- 100
    applesauce- 50
    V8 juice- 120
    dinner- 350

(snacked on some potatoes after, maybe 200 calories?)

    1460

I feel proud of myself, especially because I cooked the most delicious meal ever! I got the recipe from a cookbook called “Healthy Eating” and if you want to know more about it, I plan on writing about it in my “have more adventures” goal! :)

oh and I now weigh 143… so somehow even after eating like a horse I managed to lose half a pound!

Sloppy Joe  — 21 hours ago

I wrote up about 10 recipes of food I like. I have tried to alter them to make them healthier. For example today’s Sloppy Joe day, and instead of ground beef I use soy ground beef and have a side salad, fruit whole wheat buns, and whole wheat crackers. This makes me happy and it’s constructive rather than my usual frozen meals.

cool recipe  — 2 days ago

found it online, perhaps I’ll mae it for dinner tonight!

    1) Nicoise Salad. Drain a can of tuna and toss together with a half a head of chopped Romaine lettuce, hard-boiled egg (also chopped), a cut-up tomato, olives (I like pitted Kalamatas, about 5, cut in half), previously cooked green beans (I use leftovers from the night before) and a good olive oil/balsamic vinaigrette dressing (make your own, 4:1). Great and satisfying salad!

yummm… well hey lunch is in a little while, so yay for that! fruit time… (secretly cries)

OOH note to self: make smoothies. I may as well, right? :)

things have been not so well,
developed more of an eating disorder…not eating much of anything, ever. been at about 2 small meals a day for the past week. this stems from my depression over paying for groceries and fear of not being able to pay for school and my car etc. however, my bf is a huge help, had a semi-decent dinner tonight. I’ve been utterly exhausted lately. I need a break. :)

ebd is excited about the possibilites.... :))))

    hmm...  — 6 days ago

well, eating healthy seems to be a very relative thing as I’m finding out. I’m doing pretty good, just becoming vegetarian alone was a huge leap forwards. Now I started squeezing my own juice, and I’m loving it. I even almost broke my juicer when squeezing too much at a time, but then I became sad thinking I lost it. How sad it really is, that you appreciate things so much more when they’re gone, or you think they are.

Anyway, when it comes to eating healthy it is certainly a journey, not a destination, so I’ll take this goal of for now and make them more specific, like my new one is ‘to give up chocolate for a month’
I’d like to give it up forever, but a month is a nice start. So we’ll see how I’ll do.

    To health!

Tell me… Why is everyone’s easy solution for a get-together: Pizza???? It really doesn’t help me any. This weekend (Saturday) we ordered pizza, and then I helped a friend move Sunday – and he also ordered pizza… I can tell you this.. Domino’s has a better “take out” taste than Pizza Hut.. lol
