disclose 43 random THINGS about myself

but I hardly ever finish them. That’s why I came to this site. To get motivated and stay motivated in my goals.

i cry every time i get off the phone with my grandmother, but only if i’m alone (i hate for people to see me cry). she is just the sweetest, most unassuming, loving and giving person i’ve ever met. and she’s over two hours away living by herself. my aunt is nearby but she’s only one person. my grandfather passed away about 10 years ago, had a heart attack as they danced together in their living room. i suppose he had sensed it was his final few days, and he took her (out of the blue) to visit some of the old spots they used to frequent, and their old neighborhood for a trip down memory lane.. and when they got back he asked for what turned out to be their last dance. it makes me quiver just thinking about it. apparently he had a very romantic side that i never knew of as a kid (we’d visit and he was all jokes). a few years before he died, he found a stone in their garden one day and it was shaped very much like a heart… he presented it to her as if proposing all over again and told her that she’d always have his heart in her hands… and to this day she treasures that stone. miss ya pop. wish we had lived closer and had gotten to spend more time with you!!!

Like Elvis, I absolutely love Peanut Butter and Bananas on toast. It’s almost like a guilty pleasure.

I’m not a big drinker. I’ve only been drunk once, after my little brother’s graduation. I was so proud of him. Other than that, I’ll have a few pina coladas at a summer party, or a rum and Coke at a party. It takes a lot to get me hammered, which gets expensive and kinda boring. So I don’t bother. Plus I see my friends, who get bombed every weekend (eh, college) and they look so…old. So damn old already. Yikes.

For a very brief time in high school I was persuaded to pick up the oboe. It was not long before I was persuaded to put it down again. I sounded like a waterfowl in distress.

18. I hardly ever watch tv, the only time it’s on is when I’m laying down to go to sleep or when I’m babysitting

21. I have something against crying. I feel like if I cry, I’m weak. but I don’t feel that way about anyone else, just me.

22. I have the shortest attention span and worst memory in the history of the earth. Some people call me “goldfish” since they apparently have a 5 second memory.

I guess it is needless to say that winter is my least favorite season.

I’m completely terrified of any kind of bug. I even cried one time on the phone with my boyfriend when I was over at my brother’s house and saw a huge spider, and my brother was asleep and couldn’t kill it for me.

My very first job was as a telemarketer for Fingerhut – a job I took at age 17, and kept for approximately two weeks.

The problem was that I really enjoyed talking with people – not selling miscellaneous crap. I recall having two very long conversations – one with a woman in Texas (spoke at length about Latino guys until she purchased a set of pots and pans), and one with a fellow that was planning to travel back to his homeland of Ecuador.
