My stylist A suggested it yesterday and I’m glad she did. It always makes me feel sad to see my hair on the floor after a cut…

How I did it: I've always had long hair ever since I was little. However, their came a time when i realized I needed change. My hair was really long and I realized that their are so many cancer patients who don't even have this simple thing that I have always taken for granted. I thought about how I would feel if I did not have hair, this is when i realized that I should donate my hair. It was one of the best decisions of my life. It makes you feel goo… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I donated my hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. I gave 9 and 1/2 inches but the minimum is 8 inches. The hair goes to women with cancer and I can't think of a more worthy cause. I am still not used to short hair and I miss my long hair but it will grow back and I am so glad I donated it. Read how I did it…
How I did it: After growing my hair out for three years, it was time to do something useful with it! I donated 11 inches to Beautiful Lengths. It has been over two months and I'm still adjusting to how short it is, but that is fine because I know that I was able to help a woman with cancer. I was freaking over shorter hair, but I can't imagine how hard it must be if you had none. If you can do it, please do. 8 inches is the minimum. Read how I did it…

I did it yesterday and it felt sooo good to cut off all that hair.
12 1/2” to pantene beautiful lengths
Locks of love…12 inches gone! I miss my hair but it was worth it. It felt amazing knowing I’d be helping other people :)
Over Father’s Day weekend I finally took the chop. I’ve been growing it out since my sophomore year in college to donate in honor of my mother and her breast cancer bout. Originally my sisters and I were all going to do it at the same time and some time after our mom’s 5th year of remission anniversary. Unfortunately the following year the doctors found more cancer and she underwent chemo and radiation this time. When her hair starting going my sister J cut her hair then. My mom finished her treatments at the beginning of spring and when her hair started growing back Katie did hers, and I last. We found a really great salon up in NOVA that donated from their shop which made it really convenient. Everyone who didn’t know what I had cut it for asked me if I had been nervous for cutting it so short and I couldn’t quite explain just how long I’d been waiting to cut it. It was everything I’d be waiting for, and when it was cut I said goodbye to all those years and everything those years represented. It was such a relief to have it gone and to be growing my hair back with my Mom, I can’t imagine it any other way.
suzychapstick1 is being a bum!
i love my long hair right now…and im not ready to part with it just yet, but i think someday maybe next summer i’d like to donate it. i guess we’ll see
my sister says Locks of Love is a scam and that they sell their hair, not donate it. so if i do this, i’ll have to find somewhere else. not to mention it gets really unmanageable past the point i really like my hair to be, so this is going to be a difficult one for me.
my hair is very very long.. i have been wanting to cut it for a long time now but i am waiting until my wedding on oct. 11th 2008 . after that i will cut it and donate it.
Well, I think I’m going in tomorrow to do it! I think I’m going to give it to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths, mainly because they take shorter hair (8 inches), but we’ll see what my stylist says. I’m a little nervous, but then I realize how silly this is: I’m worried about going from longish hair to shortish hair, but the women it benefits have to lose it all whether they like it or not! This is a little challenge for me, so I’m excited to finally face it.
Katie R November has reached, once again.
But I’m still planning on doing this for time number two :].
