move to seattle

Well, I have my place all lined up and I’m currently in the process of getting hired on in two districts. Today, I’m going to go through my stuff and figure out what I need and what can be left behind.

Its exciting.

I’m still mucking about with the bank, and have appoinments/parties this weekend before i skip town and head back to my mom’s place in cottage country for a few days before my flight.

Its nice everyone scrambling to want to see me, but.. it also means that i have to try and fit them into my already crazy schedule!

Oh well… today is pretty easy, doc appointment, then the bank (i hope!) and a quick trip to the ceramics museum to see ‘object factory’, oh, and groceries, weeding JB’s garden and meeting up with my friend punkin’ for one last cruz before I go!

Oh yeah, and then when i land, i have 10 days before school starts to find and furnish an apartment and get myself a wicked west coast bike!

I just moved to Houston this past week. My goal is to stay here for two years to finish school and get some work experience, and then move to Seattle for grad. school. Houston is nice, but way too hot for me to ever consider living here permanently.

I haven’t had roommates in a long time, but I figured with a move to a new state, it might be nice to have someone to share a place with. Well, I found some cool girls that I think I could make it work with. They’re my age, professional, down to earth. Makes the whole idea of moving a little less stressful.

We’ll see what happens :)

I’m currently in the process of looking for a place to stay. I’ve narrowed it down to a couple of places, and I’ll be calling on the first of the month to see what’s opened up.

I moved to Seattle back in 1990 and moved away again a year later to go back to school. Have always wanted to move back there again because i love it there. Maybe a few years from now we’ll make the move.

Hooray! I’m totally packed!

I’ll be a collage of all the clothes that i’m not bringing with me, until i go, :).

I’ve used my awesome kayak touring skills to science it down to the essentials (I’m only bringing what air canada lets me: 2 carry-on, 2 checked bags under 50 lbs).

(It seems however that i am storing more stuff than i ever imagined i would, but i guess after 7 years of living here in toronto against my better judgement i’ve accumulated a material lifestyle… oops. The van goes up on the 24th and it will be full of stuff that i don’t really want but feel guilty for throwing out/giving away because everyone tells me i’ll regret it. I know that they are wrong but i’m appeasing their weird affection to stuff by pretending to have one. They don’t understand how much i love them.)

Look out Seattle, in one month exactly i’ll be landing, and it will be fabulous!

Just over a week before we leave LA. So much to do and so little to do at once.

One less thing to do on this note, i’ve got a zillion packing/organizing related things to conquer before i can happily relax and let the spirit of the thing wash over me.

I have always wanted to BE there and experience life there. Ever since I realized Seattle existed… yes, unfortunately, it was grunge music that introduced me (I am a HUGE fan, don’t get me wrong), I knew that it is where I belong! My husband lived there and surrounding cities his entire life until his unfortunate move to Tigard, Oregon <—HEY!!! maybe it was fate! Wait… fated to be in Seattle or fated to be with my true love?
