Foster Parent 2 weeks ago

I want to provide a beautiful home for children who are in the midst of difficult struggles with the court system and family turbulence. I want to help many different needy children to have quality experiences of being cared for at some point in their lives, even if they are returned to their parents.

Its a logical thing to do. People foster, but it tends to be 0-5 leaving 7 year olds to think their too old for a home. I’m considering fostering teenagers, but its a in the future kind of thing. I’ll have to be in a good place financially to be able to afford to do so.

It would not matter how much they pay us to be foster parent to the boy and girl(sibling) we are taking care of…we just picked them up from a visit with their fathers all weekend, and the tears we shed for them, on their behalf, CANNOT be compensated financially ever….foster parenting is very hard….this is our 1st time, and I’m not sure that we can ever do it again…

thanks

Putting this on hold….

I found a group on campus that works with mentoring and tutoring foster children. Since I’m closer to their age than adults, hopefully I can get to know how they think before I grow up and foster kids of my own.

I'd love to do this 6 months ago

This will have to wait until I’m older and done vagabonding/adventuring. I want to wait until my own kiddo is out of the house. And my husband will need to be on the same page about it, too. So this is in the way distant future, I guess.

Worth It 7 months ago

Being a Foster Parent is exhausting but so worth while. I am so very glad to have the girls in my home!

It’s just something I have always wanted to do for a little while. There are so many kids out there, past adoption age, that just need a stable home and love to help them become stable adults.

I loved being a foster parent 8 months ago

we are proud to have had 43 children stay with us as foster parents. 40 have gone on to home or to relatives and 3 very special ones have become ours… forever. We retired our foster liscense last month to raise the ones we have, but it was the best thing I have ever done.

I am exhausted. Having been placed with a 2 and 3 yr old sibling set for Foster Adopt, they run me ragged. ISSUES!!!!! I love them and will weather through this but MAN is this hard work. You would think with three older children I would have known this but they are testing boundaries etc at EVERY second.
