I made it through a move across the state and didn’t lose any, so I think I’ve made it! I am so proud of myself…I’ve been ripping them off since I can remember, and have finally kicked it, at age 22. The ironic part is that I am starting grad school in a few weeks and we have to keep our nails trimmed very short so we don’t hurt people when we do massage, etc.

So I went on a few dates a little while ago and I lost a couple nails. They went well, but I haven’t really dated (just been in relationships, which are not the same as dating) so I was a bit nervous. But they are growing back nicely and things are going well with the boy too :)

So in my recent trip to Mexico, I did encounter some situations where I know I would have ravaged my nails before. I am pleased to report the loss of just 2 nail edges with no bleeding at all _

So now that my sister is engaged (yay!) and I’ve been asked to be the Maid of Honor (also yay!), I have decided that I will have nice looking nails for the wedding. It will be a real challenge because the date is set for the Saturday before my first finals week of grad school, so I figure I need to kick the habit for real before then so it’ll be easier to resist.
