How to organize my computer files

How I did it: Had to get rid of the viruses and adware before I could do anything. Then I downloaded some updates that I've been meaning to have. Then I trashed everything I didn't need and organized everything I wanted to keep. If you haven't used a program in years you probably aren't going to so delete those too - more space for the things you actually use. Lessons & tips: Don't put it off. Now my computer runs faster, stopped crashing, and best of all I know where everything is! Resources: My mouse and the recycle bin. |

A couple of months ago my computer got a virus. This was a great time to backup all my files. Fortunately, I was able to get rid of the virus so I didn’t need to reformat my hard drive.
I am also eagerly anticipating the arrival of The Sims 3 and realized I had to get rid of some stuff to make room for it.
Yesterday I spent much of my time organizing and deleting my computer files and bookmarks. Organizing computer files has been my goal for months, and now I’m relieved that this goal is almost accomplished.

I’ve got a lot more free space but now my computer is infested with viruses so I can’t get on my main user XD! Guess I’ll have to wait to clean out the rest.

Yesterday I cleared off my desktop and organized my internet bookmarks, but the rest of the computer is a mess, seems a little bit daunting to clean all that up!
Finally my desktop is clear and everything is in the right place.
Now I need to organize over 200 gb of photos. Yes 200gb. It’s gonna be AWFUL. And after that, back up all those photographies…

I use different icons for each thing, try to keep my inbox empty and my desktop as clear as possible! It works so nice that anyone can find the files they need.

I must say that I was surprised by how little work this actually was. For the most part except for the random files on the desktop that needed to be filed away it was pretty organized already. The problem was that I wasn’t able to tell because I had too much garbage laying around that was of no importance or value so once it was deleted the files were under control again.
