for the last few weeks, i’ve been using my planner religiously to make a list each day of everything i want to get done and ACTUALLY DOING EVERY SINGLE THING. my bills are paid, my bed is made every morning, i’m actually planning my sister’s bachelorette party on schedule instead of putting it all off for the last minute. i know that the more i do this the more it’s just going to keep getting easier and easier.
Hmmm well it’s a year since I wrote anything constructive about this – does that indicate a general failure to achieve this?
Possibly. I still find that whilst I am always able to do what is asked of me it often takes far too long. I’m not nearly as productive as other people I know in a similar position – and it’s not down to lack of effort. Some people don’t seem to break a sweat to get things done in less time it takes me when I’m workin my ass off.
I think I have generally gotten better at getting things done over the past year. I realize that I have about a week every month that I am not as productive and feel really testy and it’s always when the moon is full. So, that sounds kind of freaky deaky, I know, but that’s my deal I guess. The moon is super full right now, but I still got a lot of work done this week so that’s great. And hey, when can I even check this goal as ‘done’ if it’s so so so vague. Get “better” at getting things done. Better than what? How much better? I will leave it on my list for a while longer to remind myself to keep it up and keep it moving. It’s good motivation.
I was productive and got many things done. There were a few things that didn’t work out the way I planned and other things I didn’t get done because they depended on someone else. Being busy all day kept me from worrying about a situation I couldn’t change. Funny, I worked hard all day and I don’t feel tired.
I was really good at getting a lot of oragami cranes and bunnies made today. I wasn’t so good at getting the house clean though! I just didn’t want to!
I am starting to think the more things you have on your to do list, the more you begin to actually accomplish and the list of things you want/need to do will actually grow. It’s kind of like on 43things… when I first logged on, I had five things on my list, but as I started trying to reach those goals, I started realizing how many more goals I have that I want to reach, and my list grew.
I wrote those letters (finally!!!!!), went to the bank, cleaned my place and did pilates. I’m getting things done!!!
Here I am, surfing and looking at the status of other people’s goals, reading interesting and funny entries and generally enjoying myself. But am I getting things done?! Nope G* My homework for my Mandarin class later today is still not done, I still have some work to do and I have plenty of shelves and boxes that could do with some TLC (sorting stuff etc.). Funny *G
So all in all I could do better with this goal, but.. Then life wouldn’t be as much fun, and I do so enjoy myself :oD
